Doesnt the market research to see what the consumer wants to buy, then market it ?

Alternately, they find out how many people buy the Sun, and market accordingly

    LMFAO!

not sure what i think @ it but as someone stated apparently the familys are ok for it too go ahead, think i’ll reserve judgement on the way it has been done and the purpose after watching it if i do :!: :!:

I think it’s a revolting idea for a play. I reckon for the genuinely interested that a documentary would be more fitting. However, I would defend the production team’s right to produce it anyway, in spite of my, or anyone else’s, misgivings.

I don’t think dramatising it serves any purpose at all. If a dramatic exploration of the make-up of wickedness is its aim, then I reckon it has a lot to live up to; for example David Mamet’s or Shakey’s excellent plays.

    When’s it on?

 The answer’s in the thread title, I see. No. I shall be being debauched.

 Godot never turns up? Now you’ve gone and ruined the whole thing! I bet you’re the kind of girl who likes letting slip the footy results just before Match of the Day, you minx.

Like I said, I think it’s unsavoury and needless. Much travelled ground. I wouldn’t try and stop anyone making it or watching it.

The thing is i beleive we have all become a wee bit de-sensatised with violence on the tiv. years ago whenever there was anything ‘usuitable’ on the tv i like ruby was sent up the stairs to bed………tv or films were not so graphic as they are now

who amongst you remembers the 911 footage?? did you think you were watching a disaster movie??? a few years ago the irish people attacked a couple of guys in a car…….etc.

the one comment i will make there was a documentary on a couple of years ago about the moors murderers adn my youngest now 21 watched it. she commented to me that she was glad in a way she had because she didnt understand why hindley and brady were constantly in the news and why people campaigned for hindley never to be released……..

drama??? bout the moors murders??? no and no apologies i will never understand why and i wont be able to comment on the actual programme because i dont have stomach enough to watch it ………

however, i defend the right of personal choice and will be interested in any comments by any of you that do watch it on tuesday

    take care all xxxx

Yes, Ruby. As I said, it’s a story which means a lot. But it’s just that – does it need to be told in that way?- There have been a lot of similar stories since then (Ian Huntley, The Yorkshire Ripper – etc) I know I’m just a cynical B. but I can’t help but think that the program makers are targetting the likes of you and I (who remember it) for their own benefit. I can’t, for the life of me, think what lessons it is going to teach anyone?

The thing with IAN HUNTLEY is its all still far to fresh, and yes so is the MOORS MURDERS to relatives of victims but what i mean by that is, it was 1960’s humans have a morbid curiosity everyone has it. And so many years down the line the SOHAM murders will probably be made into a TV programme. A lot of people want things like this made into documentries for different reasons like, dont let it happen to you or for information reason. I know Keith Bennetts mother has never been able to put her son to rest and she still to this day is franticly trying to find him.
