It’s about time the law changed on the use of mobile phones whilst driving. I see it everyday on my journey throughout the day. Too many drivers run the risk of getting caught and for the life of me I can’t comprehend what they are thinking!
Seriously?!?!
3 March, 2017 at 1:10 am #1023878Completely agree DD , lately as in past couple years I’ve been doing the old M5, M6, M58, drudge on a regular basis , the amount of people I see looking at phones in their hands ( not hands free ) or have phone up to ear talking is unreal. I don’t know about running the risk of being caught though, running the risk of killing people, including themselves is pretty high ! Its the ‘ It’ll never happen to me syndrome’…. idiots the lot of them, no message or call is more important than someone’s life and if it maybe, PULL OVER !!!
3 March, 2017 at 1:13 am #1023879What’s the new law? An immediate ban?

As from 1st March 2017 drivers will face a £200 fine and six penalty points on their driving licence. Newly qualified drivers will lose theirs if caught.
3 March, 2017 at 8:22 am #1023910At my gym…the running machines are facing a big window….looking out onto a busy road….opposite a football ground
When ive been on the machines….sometimes for an hour at a time (no I don’t run the whole time!!)…..you can guarantee at least every 3rd person is on the phone…sometimes every other….its pure madness…..as has been said…nothing is so important that has to be read over a potential accident and potential death

Are you still allowed to use hands-free / bluetooth dongles? I think they can be just as distracting as a phone glued to your cheek.

You are allowed to use fully hands-free while driving but you are forbidden from touching or picking it up, even for a moment.
In order to use your phone as a satnav, it must be mounted in a hands free holder
