 I agree with the Tomster. This initiative is getting rid of entirely the right people; colonial technophobes and poor people.

Just to put people’s minds at rest on this credit card thing.
The page where you sign up and pass your credit card details is secured with 124 bit encryption. The data is held on a separate part of the server; is secure password protected and can only be accessed by senior JustChat staff.
I really cannot see where the problem lies. Using credit cards to pay for things electronically is a normal part of life for millions of internet users. Why on earth should JustChat users be different???
Senior Justchat staff? That would include yourself then? Sorry, dont mean to be rude but I don’t trust you, Who exactly is senior staff?? CL?? Aaron “Ryan Malcolm” Ade?? Hell no! Would be interested to know who exactly these senior staff member are :)
I love the ”…don’t mean to be rude” bit.
None of the operations Staff will have access to the database of our users, for obvious security reasons. That includes all of the ChatGuides and the ForumHosts..
Access to this part of the database is on a strictly ”need to know” basis and the only people who will have this access are ChatHostUK, the Financial Controller, and one senior administrator. Their access is strictly limited and they are logged in and out so there is a full audit trail.
We really have thought through the security implications of this and we believe that our control systems are fully robust.

29 March, 2006 at 10:47 pm #207023Is there any chance, PB, that those of us with the wanga, and the inclination, who chuck a bit more in than the frankly insulting tenner can get some sort of VIP pass to distinguish us from the riff-raff? Platinum Class or Adamantium Club Member or something?

:-s That’s disgusting. I never knew that. I’m afraid, in that case, that I can have no further association with the entire enterprise. I withdraw all my previous support. How very sordid.
