What’s it all about apart from the obvious? Is it a proper hobby? What enjoyment would you get out of it …again apart from the obvious? Not sure I quite understand it….it’s not like playing darts or swimming or bird (proper) watching is it?
Are any of you naturists? Would anyone admit to it on the boards?
Don’t think I could ever go to a “meet” I am too insecure naked and would either not know where to look or just stare in amazement

Naturism isn’t a hobby, it’s a way of being, of being free from the constraints of clothing whenever practically possible.

The “enjoyment” is from being unencumbered by clothing, in the summer it’s from feeling the warmth of the sun and the breeze on your skin…what could be more natural?@kent f OBE wrote:

No…why would it be? Is wearing clothes like playing darts, swimming or bird watching?

I’m not a naturist but have friends who are. Having talked to them about it I can see the attraction though. And I rather like the idea of taking all my luggage for a holiday in hand luggage and not having any washing and ironing to do before or after the holiday!

People say “I’d be so self conscious and I wouldn’t know where to look” but let’s face it, middle aged men strutting around in speedos with a paunch hanging over the top and women wearing bikinis that just about cover a goosebump don’t exactly leave a lot to the imagination either do they! Same can be said for the tshirts and shorts that many wear on holiday. Is there really that much difference?
I remember many years ago going to a traditional-style Turkish baths in the UK. At the entrance we were handed the smallest, flimsiest sarong I think I have ever seen. When I asked for a larger one the attendant smiled and said “don’t worry, you won’t be wearing it long” I wondered what on earth my friend had dragged me along to! However after 10 minutes of seeing bodies of all shapes, sizes, ages and so on, I realised that this silly bit of cotton was superfluous and took it off. After a few minutes longer I even forgot I was naked. Surprising how quickly you adapt when you’re all in the same situation, and lack of clothing is a great leveller…no armani suits or the latest fashion item to impress!

But ….Walking around the supermarket however …. No no !
As for naturists well I’m broadminded so …
Each to their own and as Jen has said it’s a personal choice …can’t see anything wrong with that :D

Trust you to post after him and bring nothing new to the topic in hand.
I cant see me going shopping in the nip, i wouldn’t be comfortable enough or brave to do so but as said above each to their own.
12 March, 2012 at 9:19 pm #490469Personally I think it’s unhygienic.
Each to their own though.
12 March, 2012 at 9:36 pm #490470Dirty, horrible, fat and ugly bastards each and everyone of them. ALWAYS the men look like sex pests and ALWAYS have underdeveloped penises and the women saggy, withered breasts and a vag like a half eaten kebab.
Vile people who should be shot.
