Thought youmight like to know this, someone sent me.
“You may recieve an apparantly harmless e-mail with a power point presentation “life is beautiful.pps” delete this file imediatly without opening it. if you do open it a message will appear on screen saying, it is too late now your life is no longer beautiful, and you will loose everything in your pc. the person who sends it calls themselves “life owner” and will be able to gain access to your name, e-mail and password.Scary.

4 November, 2005 at 2:51 am #160424To delete an email without opening it, open your Inbox and click View in
the top menu bar, select Layout and a Window Layout Properties box will
open. Uncheck the box that says Show Preview Pane. Click Apply and
OK.
This will mean that only your Inbox list of messages will be displayed. To
view a message, just double-click it, and it will open in a new window.
To Delete a message, just highlight it, right-click and click Delete. It will
go to your Deleted Items Folder and can be restored from there if you
make a mistake. Why would you choose this option? Especially when it’s convenient to
have emails open for you automatically? Well, with the increase in HTML
email, landing on an email that has images in the message will
immediately start to retrieve them from the internet (when you are
online). This can be quite irritating, especially as most of this type of mail
is SPAM anyway. Tagged image retrieval confirms your email address as
valid and targets you for more of the same. You can regain control of
your Inbox using this Tip.5 November, 2005 at 3:10 am #160425@veronica wrote:

I copy/pasted this to help people protect their pc’s.
24 November, 2005 at 5:24 pm #160426I never open emails unless its from someone I know. How stupid do some people think we are sending stuff like that. Havnt they got anything better to do?
24 November, 2005 at 5:32 pm #160427My friend got a e-mail that was titled something along the lines of that. She opened it, and for weeks after she got emails, and letters saying she owed over 2 grand. It seemed somebody had been using her online accounts to buy things, and now she is in debt. At the time she didn’t realise what was going on, but now she is more careful. It has made me think twice about opening unknown e-mails. I always delete them straight away, after whats happened to my friend.
Its a tough lesson to learn, but is one worth remembering.
