I think that it’s an absolute disgrace that a couple should get totally blottoed in the pub and then head off back to their home to 10, Downing Street, forgetting their little girl, who was left alone in the pub for 15 minutes before they remembered she existed as well.
I name and shame you both, David and Samantha Cameron, and call for the full force of the Social Services to be used against you.
You should be punished, and punished severely.
11 June, 2012 at 9:39 pm #498897I agree but you know it won’t happen. It was kept pretty low key in the media as well.
I love the way the security staff were under scrutiny. At least they won’t face disciplinary action.
Seems the Cameron’s are typical of many parents these days – unwilling to take responsibility for their own kids.
It’s rather disturbing that this guy runs the country when he can’t organise something as fundamental as ensuring his own child gets home safely!
Jeez!
12 June, 2012 at 8:16 am #498898To m, the Camerons are now a problem family.
12 June, 2012 at 10:56 am #498899I left my small baby in his pushchair in the school playground once. Walked halfway home before realising what I had done. The second you realise what you have done you can’t run fast enough back….luckily my friend was on her way to my house, with the baby and pushchair! It feels like it only happened yesterday its so vivid and leaves a knot in my stomach at the thought…
However it does happen…I don’t know how many others have done it..maybe not one single person on this site has……I guess many would think it makes me a bad parent…but I know I am not…it happened…some would also probably say there is no excuse on the planet that could be made/said to leave you child….and I can understand that too….but I am not ashamed to say it happened as it was not deliberate…and it is not the first time I have told anyone………..and before anyone says…no I’m not proud of it…there have been times where I have told others it happened …… should social services interveened…..I definitely think notAnyway please feel free to comment
12 June, 2012 at 11:29 am #498900^^^ A post showing a fair deal of bravery and perspective.
Admirable candour on your part kenty.12 June, 2012 at 11:46 am #498901@kent f OBE wrote:

You were on your own, though.
Both parents were with this girl as well as a load of body guards.
And you’re not running the country, well I don’t think you are, lol
12 June, 2012 at 12:23 pm #498902I can’t say I’ve done it for the simple reason that I don’t have children!
However…when I was around 5 years old I wandered off with my cousin of the same age and we got lost. We were taken to the lost children centre (which in itself tells you it must have been a frequent occurence!) and were there for over 2 hours. It took about 2 hours for anyone to realise we were missing; my mother thought we were with my aunt, my aunt thought we were with my mother. The look of guilt, fear and relief all at once on my mother’s face when we were reunited is one that is still with me after all these years. Were our parents negligent? No. Were we problem families? No. Did it harm us? No, we thought it was a big adventure. It was not negligence, it was an accident and accidents happen irrespective of your position in life.
They left in different cars, they both assumed the child was with the other parent…it happens. What I do know is that my parents made sure they always knew where I was from then on and it never happened again, no doubt the same will apply with the Camerons.
P.S. Do you really think David Cameron is running the country?

12 June, 2012 at 12:53 pm #498904erm…..guilty! I went the Post Office with my son in a pram – left, and got half way home – 2 mins walk, and realised I had forgotten him eeeeeks – I ran back only to find two old ladies guarding him so much so, they almost wouldn’t let me take him, thank god the Post Office man recognised me!!! No excuse at all, but it does show that it can be easily done, as Kenty pointed out!
12 June, 2012 at 12:56 pm #498905Almost another time………….packed the car up with hubby, and all the kit and kabooble for our first outing with baby! Half-way down the M2 we both looked at each other and thought the same thing – did you take his cot off the top of the car?!!! Fast asleep in the back – thank god! eeeeks!
