sound like bangers going off.
Im sitting here at the pc and in the wall near me must be pipes from the bathroom upstairs cos they are making the wierdest popping noises. It sounds like fireworks in the distance. This aint the first night Ive got up and had a lok outside to see where the noise is from.
Its only a newish built house…. should my waters be popping…. do your waters pop?
Let me know your thoughts on this, its buggin me.
9 July, 2008 at 12:14 am #352534You need to bleed your radiators or if you have a combi boiler check the pressure as it could be that.

9 July, 2008 at 12:23 am #352536We had a new boiler installed not so long back so it’s not the age of them, ours had a slight leak , the system was losing pressure, I thought I was in noahs ark at one point but it’s normally the rads need bleeding.
9 July, 2008 at 12:23 am #352537My pipes bang so loud I can’t put washing machine on when kids in bed.
I was told to bleed my pipes. How do you bleed pipes.
Do you need leeches9 July, 2008 at 12:26 am #352538Well Shaz.. my house is just over 4 years old, and I get some weird sounds at times here. Now, in fairness, it could be a mixture of my stomach, water / gas piping and the rough and tumble of the Irish Sea, which I’m only 10mins from.
I did find that most odd in the beginning.. the rush / thud of the sea all night , but it soon became a fine source of mollification and relaxation :) .
As for pipes.. well, is it not true that new (or relatively new) houses take time in reacting to and establishing a symbiotic relationship with such internal domestic frameworks?
IE growing pains? :)Still.. they do build walls paper thin nowadays.. and noise seems almost constant :?
Ps the least said about my stomach the better
PPS Seeing the name of this thread so soon after your previous “wee” thread (and considering the homebrew ramifications) made me fear the worst too
Told ya about the teapot / spout scenario lol!9 July, 2008 at 12:28 am #352539:-k
9 July, 2008 at 12:41 am #352540Well its not my tummy or bladder, and its still popping lol
so tankyou all for your suggestions and yep your right sgt they keep tellin us the house needs to “settle” or fall down round yer ears so maybe its that.
