That wee picture of Amber has made me greet, Shazza. And don’t blame yourself for not having her ‘done.’ We haven’t had our labrador Oonagh done..it was all booked at the vet’s and hubs took her there in the car and I phoned him up and begged him to bring her back..I couldn’t bear for her to go through all that distress and pain..it’s a big op for dogs..much more complicated than the one for cats.
I fret that we’ve done the wrong thing..so I understand how you feel. Oonagh’s ‘baby’ is a little red monkey that she’s had for three years now. It gets sewn up and patched and washed..and she loves it to bits. Don’t worry about Amber..she’ll be fine..I’m sure of it.
    *Goes off for another greet*

i did not realise dogs did that.. ! I was talking from the heart of 2 daft birds that make love to my foot as im reading the papers. who drink my drink and my toast !

My birds beg for our toast crust too rubes lol, they are truelly awesome and yours are well loved x

Sorry esme {{hugs}} but you get me?!

She had a major op only 2 years ago to have her eye removed and she isnt pleasant when she visits the vets now. Only one vet understands her, the rest are scared (not that she has ever hurt anybody), but the threat is there. I mean if your eye was bursting with infection and pain would you not lash out at somebody wanting to poke you about and hurt you even more?

It was an awful episode, and Ive not took her for her immunisations this year to give her a break, but she is well protected anyway afte having them every year anyway.

Animals have such short lives anyway, I want hers to last as long and as painfree as possible, but my wee heart is going out to her at the mo.

Amber, Blue, Ginger, Freddie, Pixie and Benjie said thanks, love you!

Actually Benjie just whispered “one, two, fouuuuuuur!”… in the exxagerated way that he does!

pepi elvis Hissed and called you a k.unt !!! sorry but i got antisocial birds that miss their daddy :)

… sometimes Its really “appropriate” when they talk.

I said earlier “hello Benjie” in a nice way…

he said “shut it you muppet, I love you!”

funniest time was when I had a DC in from the local old bill… he was going

“shut the fuck up, your such a twat”

have to admit, it dont half sound good in the Essex accent!

i have heard him ! mine used to sing loads but when dad died….. so every tall man that comes here,, as in the Royal Liver insurance bloke ,, that had a FEAR of birds so they demanded i went direct Debit ! and some police pals that used to laugh it off. till theyt shat on their uniforms ! they are beginning to sing again, fook i whistled there and its like diana ross and the supreme seed eaters.. that cinnamon upstaging koont :)

    #377657

oh the upstaging is in their genes Im sure!

Benjie has learnt the Laural and Hardy whistle…. its brilliant. We were trying to work out the other day how much he can say, and its at least 200 individual words, but putting that into some sort of context, such as the sentances he knows its got to be at least 500 +.

And when I go out the door in the morning, I get “bye bye… be good”… cos thats what I say to the boys when they go.

You cant beat coming in from work…. cats round your ankles, dogs whippy tail bruising your leg, parrots all saying “hello where’s my dinner”, kids and dave asking what they’ve got for dinner….

thank the lord for JC, I need a break!

Our first ever dog had to have her eye removed, I was only very young but i still remember it vividly..coming home with my family one day and our little pup must have got into a confrontation with our cat (who was a bit of a bruiser!) and her eye had been scratched. It was late at night, and I remember we all piled into a car with her and rushed to the Rspca hospital, sadly her eye couldnt be saved, but she was fine in the long run bless her.

On the other subject of the “baby”..personally I’d let her keep the toy if it gives her some comfort. If you take it away she will only pine after it, and that will be more upsetting to watch.

I read what you said about the annual vacinnations, and I have to say, ive done the same with my cats. They had all their main ones when they were kittens and they had a booster..but after they were neutered, the one cat had a panic attack at the mere sight of the cat carrier. When we finally managed to get her inside she was hysterical..frantically clawing to get out. Well it was more than I could bear. I know its best for them if they have their yearly injections but I havent got the heart to put them through the ordeal of taking them there and back as it causes them so much distress. When I read Esmes comment about her dog been spayed it reminded me of their op. I bawled my eyes out when I had to take them..my bf and the vet staff thought i was mental! I tried to wipe my eyes before I went in, but im sure they knew! When I got home I set about cleaning the house from top to bottom like a woman with OCD, I couldnt stop!..just because I was in a panic. I clock watched all day, and the minute the vets rang to say they were ready I dashed straight there to pick them up. I dont know whether it was more of an ordeal for me or them! A week later when they had to have their stitches out, we had such a game trying to get them in the pet carrier as they knew what was coming! After all that, the vet snipped ONE stitch on each cat and said, theyre done! I was like OMG tell me we didnt just go through all that for one stitch!!
