Bloss, have you never heard of Adriano Celentano? Adriano has a prolific career and is very great successful both in Italy and in the rest of the world, he is considered one of the pillars of Italian music. He is also a singer-songwriter, actor, director, musician and tv presenter. He is also dubbed as the “Molleggiato ( means flexible one ) because of his dancing.
Celentano has retained his popularity in Italy for over 50 years, selling millions of records and appearing in numerous TV shows and movies. I just happen to follow his career. His last concert after approx. 19 years without any live performances attracted over 9 million viewers. He lives approx. 3 half hours from you.

I wonder how you know he lives approx 3.5 hrs from where I live though?
Find it odd that a Brit knows who he is and follows his career as he sings mostly in Italian.
David Bowie was a guest on one of his shows a few yrs ago; apparently he didnt like Celentano very much; was all over the papers the following day.

I do have Italian connections , my great grandfather arrived here in Liverpool, he was skilled Mosaic and Terrazzo worker . It is impossible to walk through Liverpool without seeing some of the skills and crafts these people had. During the 1870/1880’s many Italian families left their homeland to seek work and stable futures for their children. Most settled in the north of Liverpool which became known as Little Italy. Liverpool had a large port and many arrived here on ships and paid for a passage to America, the poorer ones stayed and settled in Liverpool My Great grandfather was one of them. Christian street, Gerard street, Hunter street, Circus street, Lionel street, Grosvenor street , this was Liverpool’s Little Italy. Home to not all, but the majority of Italian’s who chose to settle within the city. In this area where many irish people so many Italian/Irish marriages took place, my great gran being one of them. ……Prisencolinensinainciusol was actually a hit in the UK and played in many night clubs, my uncle was a club DJ in the mid 70s would often play it. Same as my father loved listening to Mario Lanza .
