Research by the Home Office suggests that the more ethnically diverse an area is, the less people are likely to trust each other.
The Commission for Racial Equality has also done work looking at the effect of diversity on well-being.
Interviewed on The Happiness Formula, the chair of the Commission for Racial Equality, Trevor Phillips accepts that people are happier if they are with people like themselves.
“We’ve done work here which shows that people, frankly, when there aren’t other pressures, like to live within a comfort zone which is defined by racial sameness.
“People feel happier if they’re with people who are like themselves. But the question is: what does “like themselves” mean?”
“Our multiculturalism which started out as a straightforward recognition of diversity became a sort of system which prized racial and ethnic difference above all other values and there lies the problem.”
The very man who’s job it is to explain what our multiculturaly diverse society is about, has not only said its failed in the past, but now its failing people making them less trusting and unhappy.
AND, this is reported by the liberal bbc, who like diversity more than life itself.WHO dares defend our sesspit multicultural DISASTER???
Come on folks, its time you stood up for the good in society, and joined in a collective voice to say, multiculturalism has failed, we need a new idea, a new system, a better system for the good of our lives.

In fact the diversity of both places is part of their attraction to people. What proof is there that multicultural societies are failures? USA is multicultural and a superpower. The ussr was multi-ethnic and a superpower.
BTW emma, the word is “cesspit”. It’s not your fault though, you won’t find words like that in your Roger Red Hat and Jennifer Yellow Hat books.

Ask the family and friends of the murdered police officer paraded through the streets today?
Ask those connected to the brazillian who was shot dead by the police after 7/7?
Why wont red ken parade the flag of this country, if its so good? What proof is there that multicultural societies are failures? USA is multicultural and a superpower.
They invaded a country ilegally. Their muliticultural society created thousands of innocent deaths. Now their multicultural society is threatening Iran.
2 June, 2006 at 10:57 pm #222738Did you actually read this report or just take the soundbites from the BNP website- the conclusions you draw are not the same as the report but then I wouldn’t expect them to be-
“there’s none so blind as those who see”

5 June, 2006 at 10:24 am #222742I had to read the Trevor Phillips interview twice – to see what he was getting at – because on first reflection it came over as sort of “racist”

Emma … I have never seen anybody so apt as you to twist facts to suit, nor as able to disregard them when they are staring you in the face.
I presume your continuous posting on these boards, despite the lukewarm reception you are getting, is an endeavour to recruit to your way of thinking. As I have said before, if your efforts are symbolic of the party you are trying to represent, it is no wonder the general effect is one of derision. Rule number one in attempting to rally round people to your way of thinking ….. you listen to their point of view, then present a sensible counter argument. Reacting in an agressive manner has never won anybody brownie points …. Mind you …. that could explain a lot about the failures of the BNP as a whole.
Practice what you preach

The only fools and horses version “theres none so blind as those who wont see”, dellboy explaining what his mum told him.
I produced this thread to give my own view of quotes stating that “multiculturalism makes us less trusting and unhappy”.
If you think the articles conclusions are necessary to this debate, express them.
