Were you ever really out of them you daft sod !!!!
Yes Kermit I reacted quickly and quite rightly too. If you had to deal with the number of (absolutely justified) complaints that the Guides get about abusive users posting personal details including real names and phone numbers, you wouldn’t take the chance either.
Sure its a great laugh – unless it is YOUR stuff that gets posted – then suddenly it isn’t quite so funny. so no Kermit, I won’t chill out when it comes to protecting JustChat users from being threatened or abused.
PB …my hero
12 March, 2006 at 7:42 pm #201816I know, I am full of admiration. I see you use that trampoline to very good effect for the high dusting as well- are you an ex-gymnast?
12 March, 2006 at 7:47 pm #201817I am sure there isn’t a lot more to see Jigsy. I’ve been staring pretty hard. I’ve nearly ticked off all the things on my list. If it’s cold over the next couple of nights could you leave a flask of tea out for me ffs, my handwriting over the last two cold nights has been almost illegible.
12 March, 2006 at 7:53 pm #201818aw tyvm but my gf runs the hot-tub for me for when I get back and gives me a vigorous rub
12 March, 2006 at 8:01 pm #201819I’ve seen them remember  Hey we better get off Tony’s thread i I think we have done enough to make everyone forget about PB’s tantrum. We can go home now.
12 March, 2006 at 8:51 pm #201820PB, you are right to delete phone numbers posted on these boards. You can’t waste time thinking about wether they are real or false. I hope you continue to do it without hesitation.
12 March, 2006 at 9:13 pm #201821Lamby, I didn’t see the number, and I know James later said it was fake and didn’t exist, but I’d do the same if I was a guide or a host, no matter the context it was given in, and regardless of the number of digits in it.
The way I see it, there’s so many eejits and pervs in this place, someone might think a number was genuine and ring it, even if there was no such number, it’s still possible to misdial etc.
This reminds me of Neil and Olly and the distress they caused by ringing up what they thought was Dagger’s number. It was the wrong number as it turned out, but they didn’t know that, and they verbally abused the young girl who answered. Some time later, they made jokes about this in the room to dagger, and they gave out the number. It was when Dagger himself rang the number he learned from the woman of the household what had happened. I took all this with a pinch of salt until Olly himself came and and it was discussed. He admitted doing it, and said it was just for a laugh. I couldn’t believe he said he didn’t regret it.
I don’t quite know how they got the number, my understadning was that it was not given out, but that they learned Dagger’s real name and his approximate whereabouts. Being truly dedicated a r s e holes, they found what they thought was a match for Dagger in the phone book.
Posting a non-existant number could still result in someone making an a r s e of noting it down, or dialing it, and giving an innocent person grief.
12 March, 2006 at 9:26 pm #201822So let me get this right Peco – someone might not realise it’s a pretend number and then try to dial it and then accidentaly dial a real number which does exist and then not realise it’s not mimsey and give them grief and therefore I am just like Neil and Olly?
FFS!!
