Dear Cas…..
if the person in queston was never actually caught then how can it be confirmed that he was actually pissed behind the wheel of this thing. Just because somebody shouted at him as he speeded away……“Oi Mate…… you must be fooking legless!!!” ….
may have just been stating the obvious reason he was in a mobility scooter in the first place and not his mentle condition after drinking to many pints of his favourite tipple… :?:
Cas, that was a dreadful thing to happen to your poor mum, I’m only too aware of how serious these injuries are..particularly to a woman of your mum’s age. And I don’t find it a matter for levity. So I wish your mother all the very best in getting over the trauma and in having her broken bones healed. I also wish you good luck in tracking down the culprit.

As for the negative ones,,,,,the picture posted by Dawny (ty for your good wishes btw Dawny xxx) is of a similar one to the one my mum has. There are some others who are quite solid , have a complete front, so to speak on them. The solid kid of one is the one which hit her,,,,,,,it may only have a top speed of 8mph, but having it slam into the back of you, knocking you to the ground and THEN!! ending up on top of you, i’d say would injure anyone, much less a 94 year old.
How do I know he was pissed Fast. Because iv’e seen him around driving the thing through the shopping centre, knocking into stalls, almost driving it into the many benches that are around, I know also because he sits and drinks Abbot Ale, in a local pub, then he comes out and gets on this thing and drives it. That to me is inconsiderate and dangerous use. If I was to do the same thing in my car, i’d be arrested, why should he be above the law!
You can mock and laugh all you like, if you don’t want to add your name to it then don’t, but you don’t either, have to make derogatory comments. Think about this for a moment, how would any of you who have posted derogatory comments, find the whole thing hilarious, feel, were it your mother!!!

There seems to be a trend with these dam things.
The price has dropped in the last year and anyone with any kind of disability has one now.
They should be banned like skateboards and cycling on the pavements.
If it makes you feel any better, a few years ago, I was try to get a turkey out of a freezer in Iceland, one of those dam oaps barged pass me and knocked me head first into it.
Had to taken out of the shop my stretcher and spent 6 hours in A&E.
Sorry about your mum Cass hopes she feels better soon.

Im sorry but I think is pretty sick that you all make light of what has happened to Cas’s mum. Just think how you would feel if it was your mum eh
i was bein serious dawny. my hubby really did get mown down by one.i agree they are a menace!.

I want some more information before I sign up to a petition permanently banning the use of these mobility devices for the disabled. So far none has been forthcoming.
