Am I the only person who is not finding the “mini series ” threads amusing?
Not only are they almost taking over the boards to the exclusion of ordinary , interesting threads but I find them distasteful, hurtful and totally unnecessary.
I get the impression that the people ( or person) writing them is attempting to get rid of a lot of bile and vindictiveness from their system but doesnt have the courage of their convictions to do so in the name they ( or he/she) normally use in either JC or on the boards.
Well said =D>

If the “storytellers” made the observations outside the guise of a story they’d be lynched, but because it’s a story we’re all supposed to lighten up and take it as humour. If it was genuinely humour with no malice or ill intent, they’d have no reason to hide and no qualms about letting people know their chatnames.
Very true

I was concerned people mentioned might be offended but I spoke to the main character and he wasn’t concerned in the least so why should we be?
I was told different on that score :? Of course why should anyone else who’s not in the story be concerned  Still, gives people something else to gossip about

People continually wish for the boards to be fresh and new, but when some one publishes or posts something authentic, they want at get up in arms and say that is about this person or that…… Maybe make a choice, either you want something that is prompting new thought and discussion or you want to stick with the drivel and hot chocolate posted by the usual threads……..
This is your idea of fresh and new  I thought this was just drivel  And as for authentic you must be mistaken. It is not of undisputed origin but of gossip and hearsay
Actually I think they are supposed to be lighthearted fiction sublime, based on gossip granted… you are obviously closer to the main character than I am, I was assured he was unmoved by them and thought them funny in places… but I bow to your greater knowledge.

1 June, 2011 at 10:46 am #469612I think all three story threads make a welcome creative addition to the boards, perhaps they seem a little incongruous here because previously the more creative contributions have gone into the cross-JC forums for Poetry etc. But they are specifically about JC3 characters so they belong here.
Even at their edgiest, I find the effort to be creative makes them more palatable than previous contributions which have filled some threads with all ‘edge’ and no creativity ‘yah boo sucks’ insults. In fact reading them almost makes me wish I paid more attention in the room – there are still one or two characters I haven’t identified.
Although I am happy to curse the darkness rather than waste any soddin’ candles, I do think all art is a matter of taste, so why not put the effort that goes into perpetuating the “they’re good/no they ain’t” row into some contributions of your own?
Not that I mind a good row. It’s the tedious ones that make me yawn
1 June, 2011 at 10:52 am #469613I reckon that the threads don’t just target individuals, they also lampoon some of the things JC chatters are demeaned as – generally poor, fat, ugly, lazy, sex-obsessed etc and more individually, men who fall out of favour criticised for having small willies and women who fall out of favour accused of having either loose morals or no sex life.
That tension between repeating the insults and ridiculing them affects different people in different ways from hurtful to hilarious, or at best a delicious combination of both . . . . . . .
1 June, 2011 at 10:57 am #469614The best are the ones who fight, with the funniest come back lines.
Blonde’s pan faced humour, Queen B’s cutting remarks and Claire with the way she has the ability to laugh at herself – you couldn’t write comedy like it.
Those who have not been entertaining have been left out in my case “most of the men” …. (Going off to build my bomb proof shelter)

Sorry it has to be said … Isn’t “Delicious” a Wonderful word !
Anyway .. Carry on – what were you saying ? ………..
