Hi S.S. xx ty for the reply I got a tad lost on part of it (sorry  but I got the general gist of it ) my file that I have lost is lost for ever as apparently when the computer does the backup from “c” drive or “g” drive the share drive and then onto the server if your programme or file is in use then the backup skips it. So even though i do an automatic backup from “c” to “g” at 3pm each working day my Outlook is never backed up (cos its on) so I have no backup copy to restore… plus I never knew about the achive bit  I’m fed up of technology even my head trimmers have broke

p.s would I ever torment your better half  xx

    and you broke them

    sssshhhh you xxx

    Pete,

There no limit to a womans ability to break things……..Honest!

If it say’s indestructable it means it might last a day or two longer……..That’s about it

Heavy duty just means about as much use as a chocolate teapot……..

Forget crash test dummies just put a coachload of women in a new car they’ll show you more faults than any NCAP rating!

    *runs off*

The Out of Office Assistant (OOA) is part of the server programme NOT a part of MS Office Outlook that is installed on your computer. I have Outlook (2007 version) and unfortunately as I am directly connected (not through a central server) I don’t have an OOA – more’s the pity.

Just some Information for users who are not using Exchange Server with Outlook but are connecting directly to their ISP’s Pop3/SMTP Server – there is a workaround in emulating an ‘Out of Office’ reply in Outlook.

It can be setup using the Rules & Alerts (Rules Wizard) in Outlook. The only limitation is that you need to leave your PC on with Outlook open.

This sounds interesting netcomm. Can you explain how this workaround is set up?

BTW – I leave Outlook running all the time (and poll every 3 minutes) so I would be most interested in setting this up on my PC.

And when you do explain it can you do it in very very simple terms (if not can PB please translate for me) ty xx

    In laymans terms . . . . .

    Try this one!

    Press the button in the;

    Red circle

    then green circle

    then yellow circle

then right click and follow the instructions in the blue border

this may just retreive what you lost (or tell you where it’s all hidden)

failing that get one of these
