Why, Bull, there was me thinking you were a joker, and not realising that you were an aficionado of the heart-broken. I am impressed that you know Skeeter Davis, the patron saint of those who cry into their beer.

The same year that Skeeter wept, this song of broken love appeared, inspired by English Country Garden. Among the heart-felt lyrics, my heart was touched by the line

The fungus I keep to remind me
Of the fun Gus is having with you

Likie Martin43, I am apologising in advance for a scene which may shock many from the 15 seconds after 2.20

I make no apologies for constantly harping on about how utterly brilliant Björk is, and I forgot to post this way back.

I remember seeing this on later a good few years ago and was totally blown away.

….. and there’s Spanish guitars, what’s not to like?

I liked Bjork in that movie Dancer n the Dark..

there was director Lars von Trier, the bad boy of cinema, directing

and there’s the marvellous dance of the lumbermen at the end, putting Rogers and Hammerstein to shame..

Yup, a decent film. I’m a bit of a Dogme fan and LVT’s films are always worth a look, even the bad ones like Direktøren for det hele. The soundtrack to Dancer is very good too.

    Not drawn to Dogme here….

the films I like of LVT are from Breaking the Waves (which made me like Elton JOhn for once)..

    but I like AntiChrist best!!!

Now there are no songs in AntiChrist which would make it to this thread, and the memorable scenes would mean that I was iggied by all, instead of just Martin, Cath55 and JenJen :(

Someone told me recently I was an old git (!! lol), and I thought how unfair before reflection made me think oh dear yes.

And as you get older you really do feel increasingly far from your childhood home…

I’m not actually feeling sorry for myself, but it’s a lovely song used in the film, Inside Llewellyn Davis, which I saw on Saturday.
