Well Dave and youngest are just back from an audience with a medium and youngest is innocently convinced.
Grandad came through and said he is gonna be a great footballer (he had his chelsea shirt on)
He also said hubby goes “up” his mum blurted out he is a window cleaner  dont help these people!
A guy called “Terry” is here… oh thats definatly a friend of your dads she says…. from the old days
I can see your dad standing between you smoking a rolly thats gone out (he gave up smoking about 25 years before he died) but cos he did USED to smoke its him.
As much as I appear on the face of it to disbelieve, I dont. I do believe in an afterlife, and I believe in a spiritworld.
What I hate is mediums making money out of something that is so random. If spirit can speak why would they use the opportunity to be so random? If I was dead and had the opportunity to speak to a loved one then Id do all I could to pass on the most personal and private message I could wouldnt you?!
We have been before and its been things like oh you have a nice tree in the garden, or youve just finishing decorating (had that one tonight too…)….
Im an open minded sceptic but my opinion is ruined by chancers.

Shaz I think your pretty spot on. If it gives your hubby peace and makes him feel better then there’s absolutely no harm in it.
Iv’e been tempted to go, iv’e had the opportunity to go to several in recent weeks/months. An overwhelming feeling iv’e had tho, is that it’s too soon. I expect that eventually I will go to one, when the time feels right.
I did see a lady one time, I hadn’t intended to, and of all things it was at one of these local fair/fete things. I was passing and she invited me to sit down. She asked nothing, but then proceeded to tell me about my dad, that he was standing at my right side (she also wasn’t the first person to have told me this). She told me many things about my dad, his build, looks, and ok, I suppose you could say that wouldn’t be hard. But,,,,,,how on earth she knew what he did for a living, where we’d lived, was then, and still is totally beyond me lol. The only thing she actually got wrong was his name, not wrong in fact, just the wrong way round,,,,she said George Charles,,,,it was actually Charles George. Sent shivers down my spine I can tell you  . As for the presence, at my right side, it was kind of something i’d felt even before being told the first time, I still do. I know too, that he’s now taking great care of my mum :)
10 July, 2008 at 2:27 pm #349732I think theres something in it.. I dunno whether its just a coincidence thing. Personally Im bout 99.999999 % sure when we die thats it.. lights out ta ta..
A member of my family went to one a while back, the stuff that was said was incredibly spot on.. alledgedly from my past on nephew. I see it all like this, you need a tounge to speak, you need a brain to make the tounge move and make your mouth speak. You have neither when your dead, they turn to ashes at the crematorium… so how can dead people speak?

… and its hearing your sort of story that keep me open minded, some can give so much info and there is no way they could have known it beforehand… how did they know that?!
It does interest me, but Im one of these people who doesnt even like to watch magic cos I need to know how its done. My mum said when I was little I sussed out sooty and sweep in no time lol
12 July, 2008 at 11:36 am #349734the thing is, ive seen derren brown live a couple of times, and he does the thing where he gets a random member of the audience on stage (and it is random…he throws out a cuddly toy, the person who catches it has to throw it again and who ever grabs it goes on stage)
He told a woman the exact name of the dead person she knew, what he did for a living, where he lived, his age, what he looked like….she was utterly shocked, as we all were!
The difference is, he later tells you how its done, and its all about body language, signals you give away and shapes you make with your mouth tell him what you’re saying in your head…its still a massive skill on his part, but he shows how its done.
Having said that, if i went to see a medium (and part of me still wants to – despite the possibility of the evil thing following me home – thanks AW  ) id have to be told something pretty significant before i believed in it, but part of me does still believe that some people may have this ability…
any other experiences??

Anyone?,,,,,,,,,ever had the feeling having gone somewhere completely strange, and know that you’ve been there before, recognise your surroundings, but for the life of you, you cant remember, when, how, anything, just know. 8)
12 July, 2008 at 4:31 pm #349736definately cas….
and the feeling you’ve had EXACTLY the same convo with someone before
its wierd!
Ive seen the Derron Brown show too Pebbles and thats what made me sceptical, did you notice his twitch that you dont see on the telly?
12 July, 2008 at 4:36 pm #349737yeah he did twitch a lot  fook knows what that was all about!
Hes brill live – its probably the best thing ive ever seen at the theatre, if hes ever on near you and you havent seen him before youve got to go and see him live, its amazing
12 July, 2008 at 4:48 pm #349738we went with a few friends at our local theatre and yes its definatly the most interesting and eyeopening show Ive seen. I loved the explanations and the way he picked people out.
He has actually had the show recorded, I watched it on some random channel a couple weeks ago.
Was the show you saw the one where he walked over the broken glass at the end and shoved a nail up his nose? Gross!
