I,ve bought a nice new microsoft windows wired keyboard. I,ve got a wireless one at the moment but I often forget to change the batteries which is why I got this. Anway, I unplugged the reciever for the wireless one, and plugged the new one into the back of my pc. Message comes up which say,s windows does not recognise this hardware etc. I,ve tried add new hardware wizzard, i,ve also tried updating the driver(it says there are no drivers installed for it) but when I do that, it tells me it cant find any better drivers than the ones I already have installed. FFS why cant things just bloody work!!! grrrrrrrrr. Incidentally, my new corded mouse plugged in and worked why cant this poxy keyboard?? ffs. If I cant get the stupid thing to work it,s off to amazon to sell it.

Did you uninstall the wireless one Bat before you added the new keyboard?
No poet I didnt because in the instructions, which were obviously written in tawian, it just says turn on your pc and plug your keyboard in. It says nowt about uninstalling anything else first. I,ll uninstall the drivers for it and then turn pooter off and plug the new one in and turn it bk on again. If that doesnt work I shall throw it in next doors pond with the fish. BUT, why, when I plugged my new wired mouse in did that work perfectly? I didnt have to uninstall the mouse drivers for it it just worked. These things are put on this earth to drive me mad, and I tell ya, it,s working.

I did get an adaptor for it. I took the reciever out of the bk of the pc.(which the wireless keyboard needs) Then I plugged the new keyboard in, but windows says it,s malfunctioning and doesnt recognise it. FFS. So shall I do what Owen said? uninstall drivers for the wireless keyboard,(which comes under advanced users, so i,m a bit wary of ballsing it up) or just poke up with the wireless one and try not to forget to change the batteries? ffs why cant things just bloody work!! grrrrrrrrrrrr amazon here I come i think.
16 April, 2006 at 3:25 pm #208986It was poet whu suggested you uninstall drivers. I don’t think you need to
uninstall drivers. It sounds like you have a faulty keyboard to me.
Are you connecting the new keyboard before or after you start your pc?16 April, 2006 at 5:25 pm #208987@Ow£n Ka$h wrote:

Are you connecting the new keyboard before or after you start your pc?I turn the pc on, it says to do that in the instruction book for the new keyboard, then unplug the reciever for the wirelss keyboard, then plug the new keyboard in, and it says, summat like, windows doesnt recognise it, and it,s malfunctioning. I,ve tried updating hardware etc, but it says it, cant find any better that the ones i,ve got. grrrrrrrrrrrrr. it,s going to amazon i think, its just not worth the agro. ffs.
