Actually, didnt they try to blame the apartment complex saying that the window catch was faulty? lol
That was of course before it came out that not only had the window in question been left open anyway to let cool air in, but the door to the apartment had also been left unlocked so that passers by from the dinner party could, if they wanted “pop in” to check on them :|
The whole farce wouldnt seem out of place on Jerry Springer
18 August, 2007 at 10:28 pm #282180They made a MISTAKE that they will pay for till the day they die.
Is any of this actually a help to anybody?
19 August, 2007 at 12:14 am #282181I would say that its potentially of “help” to the kids of parents who might were this never criticised have done the exact same thing
A better question is by NOT discussing it could it potentially make it more likely that harm would come to MORE kids because their parents were more inclined to do the same thing
The chance of such a public criticism of what some parents appear to think is “acceptable” parenting making a parent think twice and be more responsible is surely more valid than your discomfort considering you could quite easily cure your discomfort by choice seeing as you cause it by reading a thread time and time again that you have already said YOU dont want to see
But yeah, its quite potentially “help” to other kids who could be abducted and killed because their parents might otherwise have thought as the Mcanns did, nothing is ever learnt or altered after an occurence by castigating it to some unspoken silence after all is it?
And what harm would be done by you just not reading the thread and letting the people who DO wish to discuss it and voice their views and opinions to do so without an incessant bemoaning of it? What exactly is “achieved” by you doing that other than if successful it potentially contributing to another child going missing belonging to a parent who might have just read the thread later had everyone not stopped posting on it because of YOUR discomfort ;)
19 August, 2007 at 12:44 am #282182It’s not discomfort. It’s boredom at your long winded 20 paragraph replies.
19 August, 2007 at 1:41 am #282183The reading of which IS however optional, so only a chronic massochist would read them and then repeatedly whinge about the fact they have

your opinion of course :D
19 August, 2007 at 3:40 am #282185Yeah fair point Token, obviously someone would also do something they dont want to do, dont have to do, and dont enjoy doing purely out of their own choice and THEN whinge about doing it for other reasons too, like being a sympathy addict, being retarded, having a severe chronic mental illness, being in love with their own typings even when they are pointless, senseless, needless, inane and eroneous or just simply because they cant admit to not having an actual valid point to make so instead they litter a debate with childish inanities or avoid the debate entirely and just snipe at other posters like a six year old who cant have their own way
I was totally wrong, someone being a massochist ISNT the only reason someone would do that is it

No Sharon. They made a mistake that their daughter will pay for until she dies; that is if she hasn,t already. Lets not forget, it,s their incompetence and negligence that caused all this in the first place. If they had used the babysitting or creche facilities that were offered, then none of this would ever have happened. Of course if they hadn,t been so bloody selfish and thought of nothing but having a nice cosy little meal without the kids disturbing them, it wouldn,t have happened either.

Because the other two are twins puppy. It would have been far easier to spot twins. Maddie was easier. If she is still alive, her hair would be a different colour, maybe even cut short. It wouldn,t be so easy to disguise twins.
