To Sharon and Cath: I think that you might have misunderstood the thrust of my point (as it were).
Yes it was very sad that these five – or maybe even more that have yet to be uncovered – were killed in such a short period of time. However, prostitutes are beaten up and sometimes killed more often than most of us realise. This isn’t to say that this is somehow right, simply that it happens. It is an occupational hazard as it were.
Unfortunately, being self-employed, they can’t claim on an Employer’s Liability Insurance but then they don’t pay Income Tax or NI either so I guess that it comes out in the wash.
However my main point is that if more females were less precious about a quick shag, no questions asked, then there would be no need for prostitutes and thus no females beaten up or murdered – or at least fewer anyway. This means that the prospective prostitutes wouldn’t see this ‘profession’ as an attractive carreer with the added perk of as much sex as you can handle. Instead it would be seen as a rather difficult commodity to sell, as the ‘amateurs’ would be giving it away for free.
They would be obliged to take proper jobs and pay Income Tax like (most of) the rest of us, and this would be to the long term benefit of the economy and thus to society as a whole.
As for Fastcar’s point about marrying them. Well the younger and more attractive ones could still put it about at the drop of a hat. When they become a bit older (and fill out a bit) then is the time for them to think about getting married. By then they ought to have been able to learn how to cook and keep house properly and of course ”look after” their husbands.
So the whole thing comes down to the ‘amateurs’ failing to get ’em off when they should, thus forcing any reasonably horny male to seek the services of a professional.

PB for an intelligent man you dont do yourself any justice by the above statement. I dont know whether to take you seriously or not!!!
I really do find the paragraph above extremely offensive not only as a woman but as a human being and a mother.
As I have already said I dont know if you have a daughter ? but would you be happy about her being seen as a quick ‘s hag’???? shame on you PB .

This is very true PATS, although they apparently had an assortment of children from an equally wide assortment of fathers, the Social Services were looking after them all whilst the mothers went out to work … as it were.
I gather from the Media that their main need for all this Tax free cash was to buy drugs as apparently they were all heroin addicts. Poor old dealers, they have lost a load of business and just before Christmas as well. Still I guess they’ll be able to find some more customers soon.
See …. nobody ever thinks of the retailer at Christmas do they? Here we all are being offended as mothers, women and human beings and nobody spares a thought for the drug dealer who won’t be having quite as good a Christmas as they might have. Makes you wonder doesn’t it?
20 December, 2006 at 4:38 pm #253663io pb stop trying to put me out of work again!

However, you skirted round the question again, do you have a daughter and how would you like her to be seen just as a quick s hag??? or come to think about it PB do you have sons and have you told them never ever to go to prostitutes as women are there for a quick s hag and all he has to do is buy em a bag of chips????

PATS the issue for me isnt whether they were buying the drugs to feed the kids or whatever my issue is with PB’s comments on this thread about ‘if more females were less precious about a quick shag no questions asked then there would be no need for prostitutes ‘, i just found that the tongue in cheek comments or attempt at humour was innapropriate for this thread .
20 December, 2006 at 7:05 pm #253666well firstly cath i would have thought these girls parents..the ones in shock and mourning over the demise of their beautiful daughters……..would have had an inkling that not all was well long before their bodies were discovered. one i believe had 3 daughters in care?…….did her parents not wonder why their grandaughters were in care? why their own daughter was never around? why on the odd ocasion their beloved got in touch she probably looked like death warmed up?i dont understand the outpouring of grief for a daughter whom they obviously didnt care that strongly about in the first place to notice she was living in squalor and the kids were no longer about. one had been a drug user from age 14?where were her parents?.yes cath….these prostitutes were someones daughter.sister mother.auntie ect…………..yet none of the families seemed to care strongly enough before the sun reporter knocked on their front doors askin for pics of young so n so age six dressed as a happy little fairy in the school play to print in the paper……..to wonder where their girls spent their nights. if my daughter was hooked on heroin before she was even out of school uniform……..and out selling her body for money by the age of 17…….i’m damn sure i would have noticed!.
yes they were human beings…who CHOSE their way of life. i made my feelings concerning drug dealers and users a while ago on tommy toxens thread. no one forced the drugs down their throats…no one made them get pregnant repeatedly knowing they had no means whatsoever of raising the children they produced in a stable home life.
i have nothing but comtempt for dealers.users….OR murderers.
but please keep things in prospective………..these woman took their lifes in their own hands everytime they leaned into a car window and asked a bloke if he was looking for business.20 December, 2006 at 7:16 pm #253667@pats wrote:

My problem as I have said is the comments PB made on this thread about if women were a little less ‘precious’ about their bodies and gave sex freely to all and sundry their would be no need for prostitutes and it is this ‘flippant’ attitude that I have a problem with, I think his attempt to post some humour into the thread all beit tongue in cheek is innapropriate and it is that I have a problem with. Most of the posts on this thread are sensible and express the views of the poster , not one of them take it to the level PB has taken it too.
Now if perchance his opinion is for real then i ask him again how would he like it if a daughter of his was just seen as quick shag?
I would also know if either of my daughters was hooked on heroin and walking the streets to feed their habit pats, and I also know that their morals are better than the alley cat morals PB is preaching.
20 December, 2006 at 9:59 pm #253668why is this form of communication so hard to understand the gist of stuff??
I think that because you dont know the person on the other end of a post very well its easy to jump to conclusions. PB’s post on this subject could be read 2 ways , it could that PB is generally takin the mick with a sense of logic/humour that this medium sends straight over peoples head including mine – not for long tho if i’m right i think i get it now…….(PB) (if im right PB u can confirm ?? ) whereas other people have posted about another aspect of the post and good points and contributions no question about t , but do we really read between the lines of posts?? perhaps it wouldnt be half as much fun if we read everything properly, people take things out of context and then this allows others to generally slate that person, its all in the name of entertainment I guess.
praps I’ll get the spit the dummy award for this week who knows lol xxx
