We’ll see after the home leg Matt. Having home advantage in Europe is a huge advantage as we witnessed last night.
With a big home crowd behind us at Parkhead? Absolutely! We can play ALOT better than we did against Celtic..No offence though..Celtic showed alot of determination, and went at us while not many teams do at Old Trafford…I think Rooney will play alot better by then, with Ronaldo coming back…It will be extremely tough for your boys. You can’t really predict football anymore, as teams are getting better and becoming more entertaining. Celtic are a good football team by all means, and I think they will qualify for the next round.

I just feel there’s a certain snobbery in some quarters. Man U are on a different planet to us financially. They’re a great side, and they’re movement and passing was there for all to see.
We came and had a go though, and aside from some dodgy passing from Gravesen we’d have got something from the game. Sure it could have 10-4 but it wasnt 10-4. That’s what Goalkeepers are there for to save shots. Surely anyone must have known before last night’s game that Man U would have the bulk of possesion and shots at goal.14 September, 2006 at 9:34 pm #238044@Bad Manners wrote:

It’s fair to say “if the penalty hadn’t been awarded” A goal makes a big difference to a side – not just in the obvious scoreline – but in terms of confidence and freedom of play . The longer a team goes without scoring when they have the bulk of possesion the more frustrated they get , the more mistakes slip in , the more depserate they get , trying to score from distance rather than working a goal
All i’m saying is if the referee hadn’t given the penalty – which was never a penalty in a milion years I think Celtic woudl have had a chance of at least a draw
That guy with the stupid name up front for the bhoys is a good player – he tore Ferdinand apart in the first half15 September, 2006 at 6:03 pm #238046I think the fans created an atmosphere which ‘dragged’ Man U into a good old-fashioned rip-snorter of a Cup Tie. In those games, either team can win. That said, it was only because the Celtic fans were threatening them in their own back yard that made Man Utd go all macho and stand toe to toe with Celtic – they have gone to more hostile places than Celtic Park, stayed professional, and come away with the points. I think Man Utd will win at Celtic ‘if they want to’. Hearts are shtye btw – how depressing :(
