Seems City’s new owners are serious and aiming high. Trying to pinch Berbatov from Man U and chasing David Villa, Robinho and Mario Gomez.
Doubtful they’ll get any of em though

Man City have signed Robinho for a British record fee of £32.5 million.
He only joined Man City because Real Madrid refused to allow him to join the Chelski chavs.1 September, 2008 at 11:41 pm #368800maybe it was more a case of the player choosing to go to a club that offered him more wages and the chance of first team football
City now have a realistic chance to finish in the top 4 this year, who would have thought that at the start of the season
Bertatov has gone to United, Campbell going the other way, did’nt I say that before it happened? not a bad guess for somone who does’nt know what he is talking about

Berbatov must be mad to go to Man United.
He should have gone to one of the bigger clubs like Arsenal or Chelsea.2 September, 2008 at 7:22 am #368802Robhino will be surprised to learn there are two teams in Manchester, I reckon its only a stop gap, he will go to Chelsea next.

Chelsea have been no.1 in UEFA’s rankings since April this year. Matty I’m sorry young man but I am not getting into this ‘not a big club’ bullshit with someone that clearly doesn’t understand what he is talking about. Said my piece.
So Chelsea have been a big club since April.
Impressive

How come brum never get any 1 lol
I thought Bobo Balde was on his way to Brum, Celtic would’ve certainly been keen to get rid considering the wages he’s picking up for not kicking a ball. Maybe Boyd as well, I had heard of interest from Birmingham previously and considering he was left out of the squad for the Old Firm game while Cousin started certainly got the Rangers fans I know speculating about a move somewhere.

Havent City now become as big a club as Chelsea? Seems the new owners Pockets are as big as Roman’s, and they’ll challenge Man U and Chelsea for the best players.
If they can get a top four finish and get into the Champions League the players will flock to them.
2 September, 2008 at 6:43 pm #368806Yep, they’re now going after C.Ronaldo, Fabregas and Torres.

Dosent matter if none of those will come off. It shows the kind of targets they’re gonna go for. Chelsea have never been as bold as that.
Dunno what odds are on City to win Premiership in the next two years or Champs League within 3 or 4 but it would be well worth checking the odds on it.
2 September, 2008 at 7:23 pm #368807There is more to it than just paying the biggest bucks for the best players. Scum Utd do it, Chelsea do it, Liverpool do it to a point and now Man City have joined in, as have Tottenham to be fair, but only one team can win the Prem. Chelsea have spent £25million this summer, Scum Utd have spent that on just one player, as have Man City. No-one has a God given right to win anything, buying players because you have the most money isn’t always the case, having a blend of good players that you may (or may not) have spent big money on does work. It still has to be done on the pitch, however rich a club is. If Man City think they will finish top four they are living in cloud cuckoo land. But good luck to Robinho and Man City, no bitterness for them getting their overpriced player. I find it very satisfying how they pushed Berbatov’s price into a well inflated position and gave the scum accross the city no choice but to make sacrifices. That was the highlight of deadline day for me.
