Yes, dad is overprotective, I was also quite young, 18 at the time so he took it upon himself to highlight these requirements before marrying him.
I still stand by what I said. I definitely would not enter a long term sexual relationship without those tests, especially nowadays when sex is so openly engaged in. You can never be too sure.
Blood tests before embarking on sexual relationships is very much an Americanism. Will soon be the norm here I suspect. 8)
Hm, I’m not from America but yes perhaps it’s more common to undergo such tests there. Wise nevertheless.
