Your on about dance music right, post production so your pedantic about the levels and how it “sounds” not what it is? My best advice to any1 would be to get somebody else to do the final cut for the levels. Why? IMHO because your personal bias will make you self critique so much that you`ll drive yourself crazy.
This is my most played from the last 10 days…. What`s yours MisterQ??
Anyways keep going I`m sure you will be on Kiss100 soon

9 July, 2017 at 1:30 am #1059489Well, i’ve already spent a long time making the tracks and balancing the levels so i am referring to the levels here as a last check before making the final finishes like compression reverb and equalizer etc. I make sure i am happy with the track over a period of time then really fine tune the levels at the end. The stages i go through, obviously every one has their own way of building and completing tracks. You are right, there are plenty of people who finalize tracks for one, and like you say, one knows its then been given the best tune up it can get. Just all costs money. A track finalized by a pro by sending in the file can cost 50.00 or more. Also, one has to do a good job your self first other wise as one reviewer in a music magazine said….” there’s no point in any one polishing a turd.” lol
i tend to make a track and do all the effects i want on each track and balance it all then after i am happy with that i listen to the whole track again and add effects to it all as one track like reverb compression, limiter etc.
I’ve taught my self for the last 20 years or so without really doing any thing the orthodox way….just created as i learnt and on the fly so my methods might be totally different to others. I’ve recently invested in Ableton live which is awesome but another great learning curve to study.
I know what you mean though… i have a lot of friends listen to my stuff and say it’s cool, great or what ever but that doesn’t necessarily mean the quality is. Ill get a few tracks checked out by a pro soon. Thanks for advice…you make music your self?
10 July, 2017 at 8:38 pm #1060246Ok…been on Ableton for another good session today. Once you get the hang of certain thing’s its quite simple then to navigate easily. Decided to spend this and next month making mostly Garage music so i’ve ordered 90000 garage samples on 17 DVD’s. Should keep the creativity flowing for a while.

16 July, 2017 at 6:05 pm #1061158Ok, using Magix 2017 today and an awesome feature i found making a Hip hop Rock track. Early stages of development as yet but wow! with the press of a button, one can change the key..absolutely awesome! Key of D sounds amazing. So different sections of tracks can be arranged accordingly with key changes. Fantastico.
19 July, 2017 at 9:37 pm #1061555Found another great feature in Magix…basically..one makes a tune and then there about ten different ways to remix on’e own tune within certain themes. Great for helping with the inspiration on what a certain format, a tune would sound best in. Or just generally remixing to what ever mood one is in at any given time.
19 July, 2017 at 9:40 pm #1061557The software remixes the tune at a touch of the theme button. For example, taking out heavy drums for a ‘dreamy’ themed track.
19 July, 2017 at 9:41 pm #1061559It also has a pre – programmed chord progression for each theme which is cool. Brings the song to life really quickly.
