Thing is i like about Northern Soul is that people get up there and move it. They just feel what they are doing. I’m not saying, that they always look cool or can even dance, just that they seem to love the music and get down to it. Northern Soul definitely has a rawness to it that reaches the soul.
29 June, 2017 at 10:19 am #1057945https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=iE9nPDVTLRQ Jennifer Hudson – And i’m telling you i’m not going. Awesome track! All i will say here is that she seems to get a bit ‘screechy’ which irritates me. Beautiful voice but some how uncontrolled. Sort of shouting. I love the single- Spotlight.
As for Whitney…….She had a rawness that no one ever realized was edged with balance and tone. And resonance which is like ripples on a lake….ripples keep going out because that’s what they do. Ripples always go forward and if they can’t go forward any more they disappear.
As for Michael Jackson…….learn from the legend but don’t be him. He wouldn’t want that.

Still at work. Will check out sound track later when get home.Agreed, voices sometimes yelling out. Strong passion wonder?, take notice..hear me.. making point or statement…Know what I mean?
Whitney- did not know till her death that Dion Warrick was a relationship (spelling?) She has a nice smooth appeal singing. Like your take on ripples. Cute.
Michael- sad. Think so young starting out as artist, brothers/sister father so dependent on him for family career. Never really had opportunity to grow up having some normalcy for a child..think why he spent so much time with children. Play/come down to their level even if a aging adult.

29 June, 2017 at 3:44 pm #1057975Driving home actually had first good laugh in 2 months. Listened to “Hip Hop”.. how does this work with computer and Djing? Some can understand, majority repetitive beat/music.. English language my primary, say what he/she say? What mean, who/what expressing? And what is up with always using hands grabbing between legs, movement! What adjusting underpants, itch? Want me to notice what can not see anyway! My male friends when we went to see baseball games I use to comment same thing. Why always between legs, contagious? Laughed so hard with me finally confessed giving signals to each other on plays! Ooh thought jock itch, contagious! So hip hop signal perhaps to those in audience? Here I am ladies/gents!!!! Available tonight, free, Hee hee.

29 June, 2017 at 11:12 pm #1058063Yeah…lot to talk about here……….Michael Jackson: well i was a great fan from the time i went to see the Moon- walker film back in the eighties right up to and just beyond the Dangerous album. He was really the King of Pop dance but the cracks started showing. One always feels some thing because of the so called pressures as a kid and the harsh up-bringing but one also feels that he brought a lot of the later problems on him self to a fair extent as well. Problem is as well, the media will raise you up to a God like status but will drag you down to the pits in a very short space of time. So many great artists start to go awry because they can’t handle their emotions . Take Elvis, Prince, M Jackson, and many others all started relying on some sort of drugs and it eventually killed them. Too much fame can really distort your self perception but also the money….i mean Celine Dion just spent 79 thou on a handbag and some one spent 4 thou on a pair of sandals!
It shows though that even with oodles of wealth, it can’t necessarily give you happiness and you can’t take it with you when you go. I think my fav MJ record is probably …I just can’t stop loving you…It’s a great song and seems to me to be MJ at his peak.
29 June, 2017 at 11:22 pm #1058065I like old school rap from the eighties….The street rap that was done with a drum machine and sung over and making a lot of cool sounds with the mouth (Beat boxing). I have made a lot of rap and i quite like it but my rap is more like a dance tune formation. In fact….Break Beat music was apparently created as a sort of dance-able Hip-hop sound. A lot of rap these days is just designed to be offensive and swearing and obscene and isn’t a good model for any one.
Basically, making a hip hop tune is straight forward…the beat is 3/4 different to dance which is mostly 4/4. One just makes a beat, adds bass grooves and synth sounds…even scratching can be done on computer via a scratch desk where you use the mouse to move the needle on the record. Make yer track then plug in yer mic and sing over it and record. I don’t tend to rap on my tracks just use one word vocals in the right places .
29 June, 2017 at 11:25 pm #1058067Well apparently, the fashion for males to have their trousers half way down showing their butts…originates in the prisons where this was a sign that they were available for sex. Similar thing apparently with women wearing ankle bracelets.
29 June, 2017 at 11:52 pm #1058070Misterq- my second laughter of the day besides emotional tears..
Maybe movie night in prisons should show
“Fifty shades of Gray, and Fifty shades Darker..” may help from pulling down pants, ankle braclets, using hands only sit and watch quietly.. giggle…giggle..Interesting Hip Hop. Do not hate all, just perplexed at meanings…
Dance moves yes most certainly, and certainly give credit to Michael J.Yeah do agree about rich and famous money uses.. read once Jennifer Anniston purchased a monopoly game for $11,000.00 u.s. dollars for Brad and her to play one night… for those of us not rich and famous I spent u.s. $15.00… still use it.
Do appreciate artist efforts providing good dance and musical vocal cords and travel, time spent to make money. Instead of such tremendous waste on money on bags, clothing put more in helping people who need homes, feeding hungry, reduce stress for others with more financial support. Would make the world a little better place. Let’s not even go there on those of professional leadership in baseball, football. Million to a few million a year! What hit a ball 3x when up to bat in 4 hour game, scored touch down, golfer 18 holes favorite sport so competes against others.. some times think the rest of us doing something wrong. Ha ha…1 member liked this post.
29 June, 2017 at 11:57 pm #1058072https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMIFcTZQyig An old school Hip Hop track made on Ejay2 by some one. Gives an idea of the sound.
30 June, 2017 at 12:01 am #1058074Apparently…Hip Hop is a sub culture and art movement that developed by African Americans and Latinos from the South Bronx in New York City during the late 1970’s.. People often unfamiliar with hip Hop culture often refer to the expression hip hop to refer exclusively to hip hop music or rap.
