Right.
Interesting opinion, anyway.
It’s certainly a very new phase of capital accumulation.
Lenin argued that imperialism was the final stage of capitalism!
but it wasn’t….

If you had all the answers Sceptical, I would be quoting from your published works right now. You don’t and so I am not. You’re not an economist and neither was Lenin.
28 February, 2018 at 10:18 pm #1088778how does you knows?
A lot of people on jc seem to know an awful lot, or think they do.
Lenin wrote quite a couple of acute works on economics, of which Imperialism was one.
for that work, he basically did a paste-together job of Hilferding and Hobson, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Had problems, mind you, and got the belief in the end fo history as fuked up as Fukuyama.
Still, better than the scaries preparing the Government’s EU withdrawal bill, and the Corbyn amateurs??
28 February, 2018 at 10:25 pm #1088780I wonder how long it will be before Ge mentions neo liberalism again in a vain attempt to sound intelligent.

Ditto.

I agree.

How odd as a Remainer you support a “hard” Brexit courtesy of the May regime. That’s the liberal class for you…

I don’t claim to be intelligent Dan, I have however a first class honours degree from one of the best universities in the world. It may well have been fluke and it was a lifetime ago but, unlike you, I have one.
28 February, 2018 at 10:39 pm #1088789I thought you were at Ruskin.
But if you do have a first from one of the best universities, then show it.
First, you’ve lost me n this one –
How odd as a Remainer you support a “hard” Brexit courtesy of the May regime. That’s the liberal class for you…
What you on about?? I am a remainer, am very keen we get back in the EU, though as yet a second referendum deosn’t seem the ebst way to do it. So how do i support a hard brexit????
still, apart from this curio,
Is it Paul Mason’s work that you’re supporting on the idea that we’ve gone beyond capitalism?
fair enough – Paul’s book is a best-seller, if nothing else.
Then support your argument with more than hints and allusions and argue it out.
I’m not trying a sly put-down; just trying to get you to put your cards on the table in a proper argument, in your own words..
As you have a first class degree from a world-class university, that shouldn’t be hard.

I think the only degree you have is the angle of the bottle pouring liquid into a glass tbh. Care to elaborate what this best university in the world was? I judge people on what they say/write contrary to a piece of paper they claim to have from a university.

I have no beef with you Dan, you usually manage to keep it non personal. *recently* However if you are going to question my “intelligence” then get your facts right. Think about it, I type in my style, if I wanted to be a smart arse, i’d quote google. Just because Sceptical quotes google, it doesn’t make him a smart arse.
Merton college.
28 February, 2018 at 11:10 pm #1088801I thought you were at Ruskin. But if you do have a first from one of the best universities, then show it.
Ruskin when I attended only did the first two years towards a degree, Cert HE and DIP HE, equivalent to the first two years at university, the actual degree finished at a bona fide university. Try and trick me all you like but you know nothing about Ruskin (we have been here).
As for “show it”, no Sceptical, you show all your knowledge isn’t gleamed via google.
