Of course they want to keep in the “spotlight”, they want to find their missing daughter!
The more publicity they get the better

If that is true … then all they have to do is take the Portuguese Police to where they buried her.
25 October, 2007 at 11:05 pm #292037get a grip on reality. Put yourself in their position for once in your life. There isnt a sc rap of evidence that they were involved in her disapperance, why dont you turn your attention to looking for the REAL culprits, instead of trying to put the blame on the parents? They left the kids unattended, for this they will be eternaly in regret, nothing they can do can ever change this. But you cannot blame them for anything else, the evidence is simply not there.

I thought it was a ‘pathetic’ diversion earlier? Now, you’re suggesting that the this pathetic diversion is actually helping them maintain the publicity they need/crave. And I’m the thick one?

The holy & sainted McCanns have an army of highly paid media spin doctors working for them around the clock.
They have an enormous amount of money (donated by gullible members of the public) which they are spending like water on a constant and continous worldwide media campaign.
They are desperate to try to shift the focus of the ”story” away from their own culpability and equally desperate to try to divert the Police investigation similarly away from themselves.
More than 6 months have gone by and in spite of possibly the world’s largest manhunt, there have be absolutely NO sightings of Maddie …. none at all …. anywhere.
She is dead. There is absolutely no possibility tha she is alive and living with whoever. It is an utter fantasy, kept alive by her culpable parents spending millions of pounds on a Media campaign.
Well, if they did do something, then it’ll come out. IF they did it, the guilt on top of everything else is surely bound to make them, (If not, then at least one of them) crack!
Personally i think they were irresponsible for leaving their kids unattended, in an apartment in a strange place. I’d rather be there WITH my kids, knowing that they were tucked up safe with my partner and myself in the next room. Did they lock the doors? If they did, then how did they expect their kids to get out if there was a fire, and if not then WHY? Anyone could have got in. Either way, i shouldn’t be asking that question, as like i said previously, they shouldn’t have been left alone in the first place!
26 October, 2007 at 11:49 am #292040There is nothing like a “diverson” to bring us back round full circle for the upteenth time!

I really wish that you were right on this particular point – but there are countless cases where the parents / carers / relatives of little children have abused them or killed them and seem to have shown no remorse whatsoever for it.
They are often (in this country at least) encouraged by the Police to appear in a televised ”appeal” for information about whoever did whatever it was to their little child – and they often manage to break down in heartrending tears; sob their story of please come forward to help us find our little child; who could have done such a terrible thing; and so on.
This is quite deliberately done by the investigators as it utterly undermines any possible defence when and if they are subsequently arrested and charged with the crime.
These ”family killers” are totally convincing (to the public at least) such that often the entire population of Liverpool is queuing up to sign a Book of Condolence. Fortunately the Police are not so easily taken in and most often make family members their prime suspects.
