From 14th February 2007 (St Valentines Day) MAC codes will have to be issued by your ISP, if requested, to facilitate migration to another ISP without interruption of service.
Up until now it has been a “voluntary” practice, however from 14th february 2007, it will be Mandatory, ie, if you ask your ISP, they MUST provide it, which is great news.This applys to the UK, MAC stands for Migration Authorisation Code.View http://www.computersnorth.co.uk/news/articles.php?id=13
