I was just thinking, you don’t see it about much anymore. I read an article about the decline of LSD use in the Former Colonies that argued it was down to economics – in that, to produce it, you need a proper laboratory and access to difficult to get hold of precursor chemicals that the modern government keep an eye on. It’s not worth the bother profit-wise.

This is a great shame, I think. Acid trips can be such marvellous, mind expanding experiences for a questing chap or chapette. I’m writing to my MP to let her know what a jolly bad show it all is.

Got offered one the other week for old times sake. You will saddened to know it was useless compared to how they was, which is pretty much like every drug these days apart from weed.

Some of the experiences i have had on LSD will live with me forever. Happy days.

Actually I do know something about this, it always irritates me when people talk about LSD in these terms. I won’t bore you with details of a previous life however I have done research into LSD

LSD is not the “marvelous mind expanding experience” you stated. I have interviewed many users who after even one trip now suffer hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD), more commonly referred to as “flashbacks,” this condition inhibits a person’s capacity to recognize reality, think rationally, or communicate with others. Some LSD users experience devastating psychological effects that persist after the trip has ended, producing a long lasting psychotic like state. LSD induced persistent psychosis may include dramatic mood swings from mania to profound depression, vivid visual disturbances, and hallucinations. These effects may last for years and can affect people who have no history or other symptoms of psychological disorder.

I remember a particular young woman, she had taken the drug once when she was 19, I met her aged 33, her mother told me she left the house to go out with friends a happy attractive teenager with everything to live for and returned a totally different desperate person… so sad.

Taking this drug is like playing Russian Roulette, think yourself lucky if you had good trips pikey and that you still have your intellect to tell the tale.

I imagine taking any kind of drug is a big risk. We often hear about deaths occured by people at parties etc that had taken a drug for the first time. I know lots of people who smoke pot say it doesn’t have any detremental affect on them but they wouldn’t know the difference would they? When a customer comes in just smoked a joint my god the smell honestly gives me a headache and I have to spray some air freshner once they have left.
I have never taken any drugs….I was always too chicken as a younger person…that may sound funny but I used to think what if I die from first time use (just my luck), I would bring shame to the family. I certainly as an adult have no desire to take any kind of drug, unless you call smoking the odd ciggie a drug.

In the mid 80’s a friend of mine took LSD………..I’m not sure of the details but he was eventually admitted to the nearest psychiatric hospital because I guess the tab or the trip messed his head up completely…….The hospital was closed like all the others around the country and today he is one of the town’s homeless……..definately has mental health issues………….To see him in such a terrible way is heartbreaking……….he was and I guess still is such a lovely person.

Isn’t it odd how we trust with our very lives the ‘great ‘ pharma companies, pumping endless streams of new chemicals and drugs into the market when some of the very testing bodies are ‘ on the payroll ‘. But that’s ok, we can trust them to allow us to fill our faces with these unknown concoctions. The difference with weed and these chemical productions is weed grows naturally, you either take to it or you don’t, there’s no chemical foul play involved, unlike smack, coke, wizz, ecstacy and so on. . .

A study conducted by Canadian psychiatrists four decades ago indicated that a single doze of LSD could effectively treat alcoholism.
