Looking not leaping
But I am so very green said Freddy to his mum
I know my love but you must not be glum
You are supposed to be green and sometimes even grey
You must be proud of who you are and what you are today
But mummy dearest, I only had a tail yesterday
Yes my dear child but that just got in the way
But im looking at these legs and they just don’t seem to work
The other frogs laughed and one called me a berk
Oh take no notice my little froggie son
You have nothing to prove to anyone
In time youll appreciate your legs and be fond
And so grateful that you can leap around the pond
Oh but mother they wont seem to do
Exactly what I want them to
I gaze at them, im looking but not leaping
Then benefit of legs I am just not reaping
When will I grow and be all I can be?
My dear just be patient and naturally
You will fly into the air and be as free as a bird
Listen to your mother, I mean every single word
