Hello – back again. I see that my name has been taken in vain yet again (at the beginning of this thread etc).
I can neither confirm or deny the truth or lack of it in any rumours you all may care to believe or disbelieve as the case may be. However, do note that I did try to point out, both in posts and polls, that all may not be what it seems – with particular reference to “Miss Minx”.
In some ways it is like the chatrooms – people adopt a particular persona to suit themselves and chat or post messages in that style. Occasionally, when they actually meet others for example, the ‘persona’ and the ‘real person’ are completely different.
The gorgeous young girl turns out to be a middle aged dumpy housewife; the slim athletic male with the six-pack turns out to be a tubby married man with bad breath and spots. You even get ‘gorgeous girls’ who are middle aged men and vice-versa. Over the years of doing my thing on this site I’ve seen it all and heard it all …. nothing surprises me any more.
But let me add this for you to ponder over. Shortly before Christmas members were posting stuff saying that these Boards were dead; nobody posted anything interesting; and so on. The end of the world was nigh. Civilisation (as we know it) was done for.
Recently the whole place has come alive and pretty much everybody has had a go. OK some of the contributions were not necessarily of the highest order, and there again some were simply brilliant. At the end of the day it all comes out in the wash …. and we move on to bigger and better wind-ups.
You forgot to mention how it was a good lesson to the newbies not to take everything at face value… :wink: 8)

You’re quite right (again) fastcars but I was trying not to rub salt into any wounds.
But yes …. it is an excellent point and this is precisely the reason why we always tell our members NOT to give out their personal information to anybody ….. because at the end of the day you simply NEVER really know who they are.
I can tell you that over the years I have had the misfortune to deal with people who have been beaten up; robbed; abused; and raped all because they met somebody online they thought that they ”knew” and trusted – and the reality turned out to be pretty awful (for them anyway). OK I accept that some relationships do actually work out – but you take a tremendous chance every time.
And as we have all now discovered, an apparently beautiful young lady is in fact somebody entirely different. Maybe…. just maybe …. there is a lesson to be learnt here for a number of people !!!
i’m sure that will be a grt comfort to johnboy…..hey was only a wind up an he appened to be victim this time………….. :wink:
To be entirely fair PATS he wasn’t the only one to be taken in – several members drooled ever so slightly over the more than adequate charms of the lovely and enticing “Miss Minx”
They should all be really glad that they didn’t agree to a ”meet” … or we’d have a re-run of the Ugo and Derek saga all over again.

I would just like to add that it has ‘been’ a pleasure, ‘been’ being the operative word there, and I’ll know you will all miss mr when I’m gone, well untill next time that is :twisted:
