And apart from the fact that i never once mentioned Basil Brush i’d happily strangle him Of course i’d be strangling someones wrist cause ya see he aint a real fox he’s a puppet and therefore not even relevant to your argument
So let’s have some rational argument for reintroducing the hunting of foxes

Leaving aside the ”class warfare” issues for a brief but wonderful moment – I can see and understand the necessity for fox hunting to take place on the grounds that it is a viable and practical method of controlling vermin.

At the end of it all the fox still ends up dead – whether it is poisoned; shot; or killed by a pack of hounds.

I have a real difficulty is supporting the same argument when it is applied to hare coursing or stag hunting, as these activities seem to serve very little (if any) practical use. In any event, the hares and stags are not classified as vermin and do not do anywhere the same amount of damage that foxes do.

You are completely right leaving aside the “class issue” yes ok maybe the hunt followers do just go for “the jolly” and you may see that as right or wrong as you wish, but at the end of the day the hunting of foxes is, sorry, was effective.
Healthy young foxes rarely if ever get caught by hounds, they are far too quick and dare i say smart. Hounds catch the old and infirm foxes these being the ones that come into a field of newly young lambs for an easy feed as their infirmity or age means they have to rely on this, more than the usual rabbit, voles, squirrels and hare prey of a younger fox, not that a young fox wont take opportunity’s they will, but very often not at the risk of a ewe’s protection of her young. And these foxes after this easy meal a bit like sharks can sometimes go into a killing frenzy and they leave with one maybe two young lamb and just leave many other slaughtered, unlike a hound who will chase and kill a single fox and almost instantly.
The argument for shooters to go out and keep the population down, though i can see the argument, has 2 flaws …… 1, it is indiscriminate and you could be shooting a healthy young fox these are the ones farmers DO like as it keeps down the vermin that can destroy their crops……. 2, no matter how good a marksman you can wound, rather than kill and that animal will take its self off and die a long and painful death, again this doesn’t happen with fox hunting with hounds.

Try all you like, you cant justify foxhunting. Its animal animal torture and abuse no matter how you try to dress it up. Anyone who can stand by and let that happen is sick in head.

absolutey. Unnecessary, unneed, cruel, vicious, whats the point? I will never be swayed on this. Ever. No matter how you dress it up.

Chasing an animal on horseback to within an inch of his life in this day and age is a disgrace.

i can see you points totally but …….
They do need controlling so what is the answer if not fox hunting, it certainly isnt with marksman as i have previously stated
so we stop our huntsmens hounds (the hounds chase the fox btw the people on horseback follow )chasing the foxes now what ?
i suppose we should put all the cats out of circulation too for chasing and torturing rats and mice and birds too ?
Oh and when the rats multiply even more and start coming in our homes and chewing our wires destroying our homes we let them cos its cruel to stop them ?
These foxes killing a farmers livestock (their living) you know the ones all the non vegetarians tuck into for Sunday lunch roast lamb, its ok that about 10 of his playmates were slaughtered by a fox at least we got this one for lunch.

Dont get me wrong foxes are beautiful creatures but we need to control them and the best way is by getting rid of the old and infirm ie foxhunting

Fox hunting wasnt effective as a culling method it did very little to affect numbers and foxes take still born or weak lambs it aint got a chance against a defensive mother as for killing frenzy the fox given time and opportunity will return to take and bury the prey as a larder so to speak

Most farmers who love their stock look after it.

Those who dont deserve all they get! Incompitent swines.

They don’t pete they go into a killing frenzy yes i suppose if they were left long enough they may do but you are talking days here, and they will take lambs up to 2 weeks old usually not older than that i grant you but not just weak and still born.
