It means the same as it would have if it had said “Scheme for disabled People”, or “scheme for single parent families”, or “scheme for people owning pets” ….. It means a lonely elderly person of Caribbean origin might find some like-minded people there, as opposed to be housed amongst people with your warmth and neighbourly disposition. Nowhere does it say a lonely white elderly person could not apply.

Lambi…. id give up …. lol Emma has blinkers on tunnel vision… Its her way…. or noway… nae rhyme or reason…

You’ve almost persuaded me, but one thing isnt clear, amongst the 22 properties available, only this one is a scheme for someone.

    Emma

Its next door to the WISCP- West Indian Senior Citizens Project centre- its the only one in Leicester (that I know of) and hence would naturally appeal to BWI.

Emma- If you go to a travel agent and book a holiday in the sun- it will say “appeals to families” or “would suit 18-30’s” or ” ideal for couples” etc etc- it is does not say that other groups can’t apply, it is simply informing those who wish to apply of the benefits for certain types of people (you wouldn’t want people in their 80’s in San Antonio Bay would you)

Thats all this is- it advises groups of people which flats may appeal to particular groups of people because of location, type of building, amenities etc but anyone can and do apply

I understand that, but we never hear of accomodation that would appeal to whites or asians or chinese people.

Those groups you mention, dont entertain those who dont fit that group of people.
And your missing the point, this scheme is a “scheme for afro caribbeans”, its specifically stating who its for, ipso facto, who then its not for.

Ok, write them an email, and show us the response to prove so?

Emma, if I were you, I wouldn’t advise anyone to contact LHA about this. They’ll sue you for every penny you’ve got if they ever find out what you’ve said about them.

It has been brought to my attention, that the Leicester housing association (LHA) is openly racially discriminating against non Afro caribbean people for nomination of their property.

The accomodation for caribbean court, lincoln st Leicester, is ONLY available to those who are Afro caribbeans.

The above two quotes are not only completely wrong and factually inaccurate but arguably defammatory to the LHA organisation- to accuse an organisation of open racial discrimination is actually to accuse them of breaking the law- it is illegal to positively discriminate in favour of any one group of people.
