School buildings projects scrapped to save £5bn
Hundreds of new school building projects will be scrapped today, saving around £5 billion.

The move, potentially the most controversial cut announced by the Coalition so far, comes as ministers prepare to scrap other projects including new roads and extra railway carriages.

Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, will today tell MPs that Labour’s Building Schools for the Future scheme is being wound down.

    Well voted people

Alas pete, that is just the beginning.. Never mind they are hoping for Independant schools, paid for by the parents, and giving grants to fee paying schools.

Plus cutting all community projects, that actually do some good regards giving young adults a place to go and help with job seeking, and the first steps into the near defunct building trade. Be all money making firms now, I watched a documentary on one of them, yes they got the great unwashed into jobs, but they did not allow for no babysitters etc.

    almost Dickensian !

Ah yes, socialism always works until other peoples money runs out, even then they just print some more, take a look at Zimbabwe to see what happens next.

Hopefully Labour will never ever get back into power to wreck the economy and push the country to the brink of bankruptcy economic imbeciles is about the kindest thing you can say about socialists.

Perhaps you’d better have a word with your socialist master then and explain to them the principle of not spending more than you earn.

13 years in power for Labour and like every Labour government before them they left higher unemployment and an economy in ruins. Yet still 30% of the population vote for them, suckers!

UNTRUE… after Thatcher, councils barely recovered, and were just about getting there. She sold off all the council houses etc. meaning folks bought and played with Monopoly money, causing almost civil unrest and homelessness.. she privatised things that are now a shambles ! She sytematically carved up working class communities, especially in the stong mining towns of Yorkshire and FIFE. She attempted the abolision of the Trade Unions..

as long as ONE of us remain. there is power in the Union..

NO ONE WITH a CONSCIENCE ever voted Tory !
