I’m offend ask about what laptop to buy in the lobby’s I feel that for most people they’re a waste of money.

The problem with laptops is a simple one: its a “all in one” unit.

Damage any part of it and your looking for a new computer.

Desktops have always been the better option for most people on budget, anything goes wrong you just buy a new part and pop it in.

Most desktop computer are more powerful and have better features than laptops.

    Lets look at 2

    Toshiba A300D-13X Laptop

    AMD Turion 64X2 Processor TL60
(2.0 GHz, 1600 MHz FSB, 1 MB Cache)
Genuine Windows Vista (R) Home Premium
    2 GB Memory
    200 GB Hard Drive

    Priced £450 from pc world

Packard Bell iMedia 2414 with 20″ TFT

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor
    (2.40GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 8MB Cache)
Genuine Windows Vista (R) Home Premium
    3GB Memory
    320GB Hard Drive

    Priced £500 from Pc world

I can bang on about chip sets all day, but the thing you need to know is that desktop has a “intel core 2 QUAD processor” and is twice has powerful has the laptop for the price.

    So the question you need to ask is;

“What is more important to me?”

    Power or Mobility?
