Does anybody know much about laptops here? My husband is moving his office to the basement and I’m getting a laptop to keep upstairs. It doesn’t have to be too great since we’ll have the main computer still, it’s just something to hop on the internet and maybe have a few other programs on it. Can you please give me any websites that might to helpful?
    Thanks in advance

It depend on how much money you have to spend, but if hubby paying go for the best.

After all they’re no point in buying crap.

But there’s stuff to thinking about like size and weight.

If you looking for something small; buy one with a 15 inch screen

If you’re not taking it out of the house, the get a 19 inch screen lol

There no point in me or anyone else from the UK giving you web sites or prices for laptops has you are in the USA.

I have no idea how much there cost there or where to start looking for them.

But will list what I think you should be looking for and trying to buy.

    If hubby paying

Put the word “DELL” for USA site on google for more information.

But the thinks to thinking about before buying a laptop are:

There not has powerful has a desktop computer, you can always buy a better desktop for the same price.

There are not for kids and or anyone with kids, they break very easily. You will need a 3-year servicing pack in case your kids get to it.

Make sure you get one with a “Duo Processor” and lots of ram (MEMORY 1024MB)

And the batteries don’t last long, so you will have plugged it in a lot.

    Hope it helps

go for a wireless machine as they can be used in any room, i would suggest an acer for a first. laptop they are fairly priced and they have a good lifespan. Please dont look at any website or any mag or paper as they will confuse and they always try to sell. There are many laptops out there but it all depends on what u use it for, like i said go for wireless technology get a dvd rewriter and as much memory u can hard and virtual, the Acer 2420 is a good first machine as it is easy to understand, good luck hunting

Get yourself a Mac. You’ll never regret it. It just works and will do everything you want. No viruses and 7 years ahead of even Vista (which is turning out to be a big problem)
