The mayor of the town of Delcambre in Louisiana, USA, has made it illegal for people to wear low-cut jeans. Showing any underwear has been classed as indecent exposure and can now lead to fine or imprisonment. Presumably people can still carry guns though.
The USA prides itself in being the land of the free, but this latest clampdown sounds uncannily Iranian in its nature, particularly as Iran has now made a ruling that women must wear socks!
Funny old world.
What items of clothing would you ban?
The only thing I can think of is T-shirts or other garments carrying offensive language, slogans or images.
14 June, 2007 at 7:15 pm #273521I think this is a great law, and should be applied immediately to Great Britain. Indecent exposure is the first step to rape.
The mayor obviously understands this, as he is not a pro-sexual assault liberal (such as yourself).
Nobody wants to walk around seeing everyone’s underwear.
14 June, 2007 at 11:44 pm #273522suggestions ?? we all wear cowl like smocks of Chinese Communism then?
NO means NO…
/old erse hanging out a too small thong..Dundee !
we should be able to wear WHAT we want in a free Punk society..NO ??
15 June, 2007 at 4:08 am #273523It’s not low cut jeans Bass..but the baggy jeans worn by a lot of hip hop followers that are worn so low they show their boxers and the botty is down to their knees so they fall over a lot lol! As this is aimed mainly at black males the big argument now is if this is racially motivated. Nothing has been signed yet, so it will be interesting to see what actually happens.
My fav quote:
“Mayor Broussard of Delcambre also says that race is not an issue. “White people wear sagging pants, too. Anybody who wears these pants should be held responsible.”
I would ban the burka, mohair sweaters, Rube’s thong cos she said it was too small and Smiley’s slipper socks. No, on second thoughts the socks can go to Iran where it will help some poor guy from getting distracted over the sight of an ankle.

Since that remark comes from JC’s regular village idiot armchair Colonel Blimp cybopath, I’ll ignore it!

an yep fat birds should not show their underwear and allow their guts to hang over the top of their jeans its just nasteeee.20 June, 2007 at 1:12 pm #273527I would love to ban anyone who is a bit saggy from wearing crop tops or low cut jeans – the belly hanging down to the knees is not a good look!!!
Also thongs on middle aged women and men wearing the same suit (trousers in particular) more than three days running – especially on a crowded tube trains. office worker’s crotch is a disgusting smell.
I would also like to ban women with high heels which they can’t walk in from busy areas and during rush hour – they are so so slow.

22 June, 2007 at 3:42 pm #273529I was walking out of the grocery store yesterday and saw a young man (maybe 16) walking into the store. This boy had his jeans hanging below butt, hat turned and a wife beater T on. He honestly looked like a complete moron. The fact that he was grabbing his crotch to hold his drawers up didn’t help him much. So perhaps this law is to prevent a “Wardrobe Mis-function”.
And just out of curiosity, what does our “Right to Bear Arms” have anything to do with a wardrobe anyway? -
