That’s an oxymoron if ever there was, to ‘kill animals humanely.’ There is no such thing as a ‘humane’ kill. The deliberate stopping of a heartbeat is by its very nature, inhumane, and will one future day,be regarded as barbaric.

11 August, 2008 at 10:12 pm #361380We’re meat eaters Esme whether you believe in God or evolution we have the teeth for it we’ve always ate meat and clothed ourselves in skins since the first humans walked the earth and if we all became vegeterians what would happen to the animals we breed to eat. They’d be slaughtered. What we need is some balance Rear the animals properly and sod the cost pass it on to the consumer

Just because we have always done something, doesn’t mean we need always continue to do it. We used to burn people like me at the stake, but that doesn’t make it right (yeah..yeah..form an orderly queue to light the bonfire) and I would rather see breeds of animal disappear than continue to breed them to ultimately suffer.
How anyone can put the butchered parts of a fellow creature into their mouth, is beyond me.
I’ve heard all the arguments, in a long lifetime of vegetarianism, so I really can’t be arsed with it all to be honest. I’m tired.11 August, 2008 at 10:24 pm #361383@esmeralda wrote:
