    Hi AngelBabe
I would recommend Zone Alarm, there are others and ones that the public are happy to buy (i cannot post manufacturers names here but two well known names sell there Firewall to the home user and is in fact a cut down ver of there industrial Firewall) Zone Alarm is FREE and is produced at Zone Labs, i use ZA on my PCs 3 in all and my Custom one i have spent many £££ on and i trust ZA to keep it safe ZA also sell a pro ver but its not necessary for a stand alone or home network as you have, more fore a Collage, small business ect.
So shutdown any AV/Malware apps running if you have XP Firewall on leave it on until ZA is running (it wont hurt) download ZA Here to Desktop then please post back, (i will be on line at 5pm Cybercat)
PS ZA will need to be downloaded to each PC then from a Hackers stand your network will be way to hard to crash.

Good you will now have ZLSsetup_65_731_000 en .exe on your desk top close all running apps that show in your task bar then clickx2 on the program icon, i can reinstall on this PC to a partition and go through step by step if you like or you can just follow the program prompts then when ZA is running we can config it.
