Well, as this is a Keegan thread – I would love it if Jeff said that. LOVE IT! I think it was only Tam Cowan who said it on TV and in the papers. Most would’ve been a bit reluctant
18 January, 2008 at 2:35 pm #304547Just watched the press conference and he certainly made all the right noises so it’ll be interesting to see if he can back it up.
I see no reason why not, Newcastle have been poor for too long now but it’s not as if they have a poor squad. There’s some quality players in there and I think Keegan is the sort of man they need.
18 January, 2008 at 2:56 pm #304548Yer I just watched it too, what a nob going on about southern fans comparing it to going to a show… we work all week too!!

I thought that was quite funny, as was telling David Craig (or whatever the blokes name is from Sky Sports News) to stop hogging the interview
18 January, 2008 at 3:31 pm #304550I bet the Newcastle board were scratching their heads and wondering if they are ready for another era of Keeganisms
18 January, 2008 at 3:41 pm #304551Hope so – they’re screwed otherwise
18 January, 2008 at 10:21 pm #304552It’s ridiculous appointing Brian Keegan to be the manager of a well supported club.
What does getting kidnapped by Palestinians, however right their cause, have to do with motivating an under-performing football team.
I ask you ! The idea’s simply ridiculous !
19 January, 2008 at 12:44 pm #304553You obviously watch more news than I do
Looks like Barry Robson from Dundee United is a target and he’d be a good signing. Both sides of the Old Firm are looking at him and most of us Scotland fans can’t figure out why he doesn’t get a game. He’s a good player and anyone who can strike a free kick like he can is an asset.

Looks like the board are backing him with some serious cash, though I doubt it’ll be quite enough to sign the already alleged targets:
Ronaldhino
Kaka
Drogba
Scott Brown
Deco
Wayne Bridge
Wes Brown
Shaun Wright-Phillipsand any other names the media draw out of the hat
That’ll be the media pissing in the wind as usual. And the bookmakers.
I dont even think they could afford Shearers wage as a 2nd in command never mind the likes of Drogba.
A few months ago they may have been in with a shout for Shaun W P, but not now he is on scoring form. (ive always told my chelsea hubby he will be class).Um…You do realise that Newcastle are one of the richest clubs in the world in terms of finances? They are in the top 10 by some distance as a financial secured club the last time I looked.
19 January, 2008 at 1:36 pm #304555will be selling a few more shirts too. Even the chairman’s bought one.
