I have mixed feelings on this, on the one hand I think if you are a public figure then it goes with the territory, on the other hand I do think that everyone is entitled to some privacy.
However what makes me laugh is the magazine’s assertion that this will mean that “Harry won’t feel alone” and also the Sun’s statement that they would not be printing the photos as “no decent British paper would touch with a bargepole” and that “although it had recently published pictures of Prince Harry naked, this was a different situation, because the duchess had every expectation of privacy as she was on a private holiday in a private chateau as opposed to inviting strangers to a hotel suite.” So being in your own hotel suite with guests of your choosing doesn’t allow you to have every expectation of privacy?
Followed by “Nor is there the slightest public interest in publishing this set of intimate pictures in such circumstances”…hmmmm and the public interest in Harry’s photos was…:?Sheesh!
15 September, 2012 at 12:29 pm #507932I’m no Royalist as you know but if I was in Kate’s position I’d be livid too.
I understand she was indoors at the time with her husband and the pics were taken with a long lense.
That’s an invasion of privacy. Harry’s situation I guess is slighty different as his own guest took the pictures.
15 September, 2012 at 2:45 pm #507933What concerns me more is that it might have been alot worse than a few pixelated photographs. Imagine if that had been a long range sniper rifle instead of a long range lens.
Overly dramatic I might be, but those headlines could have been a whole different scenario. :?

I agree with what panda says here…. for me if it was another celebrity in this situation I would feel the same too. Have to say though do they never learn?…. they were in a private residence… but remember Diana…. she was often photographed in similar situations …. they need to get a bit more streetwise.
15 September, 2012 at 5:31 pm #507937No Mrs Teapot they, like anyone are entitled to their privacy and do what they want in the privacy of there own home/ or place they are staying or residing at.Public figure or not it shouldn’t go with the territory at all, private is private and if i had my way i would string up the immoral journalists and indeed editors of these rags that allow this to happen at all to anyone. well known or not should be irrelevant, you think the french would have learnt better after the diana debacle  and now the bleddy irish rags are printing it, seriously journalists/ editors like that need shooting

It makes you wonder how good these security people assigned to the royals actually are. My first thoughts were also about a sniper.
