Seems God is a bloke after all…. 8)22 March, 2010 at 3:59 am #436264Here’s another few from the Old Testament:
Deuteronomy 22:28-29
If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay the girl’s father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he livesIt seems it was ok to rape women in the Old Testament, as long as you married them afterwards, and paid their father fifty shekels of silver.
2 Kings 2:23-24 (King James Version)
23And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
It also wasnt a good idea for children to mock bald people in the Old Testament or God would send bears to rip them to pieces.
More uplifting stories from the Old Testament next week.
