to open your Christmas cards as they drop through the letter box, hoping those friends you dont seem to have to time to ring through the year but still want to keep in touch with have remembered you. Then, the dreaded Round Robin 4 page A4 prose drops onto the floor. Surely most self respecting people would be out stressing about what to buy for presents, worrying about what to wear for the works party and making lists of food to buy for the big day. But no these people spend at least 3 hours composing a veritable resume of their life over the last year. The question is do we want, or do we have time to hear it?

Nigel and I have had a wonderful year we visited Venice for the first time it was soooooooo romantic if a little expensive.
(He’s stopped shagging around at last then)

We intend to go to Mauritius again in the New Year after our new 5 bed house in Surrey is finished.
(Did you forget I live in a rented Council House)

Our eldest daughter Charlotte seems to have found the man of her dreams.
(I know her fcking name I’m her godmother ffs).

Nigel loves being retired and revels in the time he can spend doing up his classic cars.
(Retirement my ar se he got sacked I saw it on News at Ten and I taped it for prosperity)

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Graham and I still havent sold our B and B although we did come very close.
(We told you not to move to the north of Scotland but would you listen nooooooo)

Vikki got a First Class Honours degree we are so proud and she is hoping to go into nursing.
(My boy got his First Aid at Work certificate in November you know)

James has a steady girlfriend who is adorable we all love her.
(If I was 30 years younger I’d shag James too)

Grahams Parkinsons has progressed to the point that the drugs dont seem to be helping he becomes very aggresive and I’m finding it very difficult to cope with.
(Now I feel a cow for moaning about Round Robins because Graham is one of the nicest people Ive ever known
and however shtye our lives seem at times surely we can spare a few minutes to listen to others).

My snobby sister sends out a weekly update . . weekly you may ask why? . . always something spectaculary amazing happens in her life and likes to let us all know how wonderful things are and how they have just spent x amount on some fancy new kitchen or garden or something and how that was so cheap ( I’d expect diamond encrusted gold units for what they paid ! )

nothing like rubbing your nose in it !
