I remember, many years ago, a guy joining our office. He was truly obnoxious and rubbed everyone up the wrong way from the off with the result that hardly anyone talked to him unless they had to and he never got invited for an after-work drink. The office went quiet and then a voice piped up “no, it’s because you’re an obnoxious little prick.” The guy who said it was our blind audio typist who didn’t know that he was Asian…

Because they told me, they also said that I had a ‘posh’ voice – not sure that comes into the category of ‘class’, but there you go! Just for your info. the only person I know who is black in this region of France IS black and he is brill

I am sorry Jen_Jen, but, you are really annoying me – I sent you a really nice pm about your problems, and you haven’t had the decency to just say thanks! I think that says it all, because you seem to be goading me throughout the threads on the boards, but, I will not be beaten because I have ‘class’ hehehehe, and you won’t manage it!

Strong words? What did I say? You said you’d had enough of the racist stuff, I basically said that in this thread racism was relevant and it wasn’t reasonable to expect it to be left out.

Having said that, your experience was interesting and I guess having black friends shows you don’t avoid black people, although no one suggested you did.

Hmmmm not quite, but, I will go along with it, oh, I dunno, just meaning I don’t mean anything really strongly that I type (I do mean type, not typed, even though I have before!), however, get cross when people type stuff I don’t like – but, more importantly, just a little mickey-take to you, ‘cos I like ya! x
