BTW poli, just out of interest, have you ever been racially abused?
Poli hasn’t but I have so don’t go thinking you’re the only one who understands the hurt.
Racism is an evil, but there again so is hatred in any form. And you’re no stranger to dishing the abuse out.Oh, you answer for poli now, do you?
If need be.
John Terry is being made a scapegoat in this court case. There’s a difference to the verbal abuse he and Ferdinand have dished out to each other compared to someone who is not being provoked yet wielding a broken bottle and shouting “come on the you black ****”.
He’s not a racist, but has been goaded into a reaction by someone (Ferdinand) who was itching for a fight. It was heat of the moment stuff. That’s football, isn’t it…
No, it’s not football, it’s the law. And provocation is not a mitigating circumstance.
I thought you were a football fan, Telboy. Obviously not. You don’t want the beautiful game rid of racism, it seems.
Not a good legacy to leave the youngsters, is it?

He said it and he should to be punished for it…. not to do so would make a mockery of the law… Besides the victim of the abuse needs to see that justice is done and receive a full apology.
spot on!
Agreed. Top post, Teapot.
Well I didn’t say it to please you Panda… I sort of agree with Terry that you are good at handing out abuse….. but I accept your compliment :D
Oh, you’re not so bad at dishing out abuse yourself, Teapot, even if you are “nice.” :P

Yes it is.
I’m getting sick of this racism crap. Everybody is racist anyway. A Polish guy on the train was saying how “tight fisted” people from Leeds are. Another racist ****head who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Maybe I should heve reported him to the police..?

Provocation in English law is not a mitigating circumstance.
“In English law, provocation was a mitigatory defence alleging a total loss of control as a response to another’s provocative conduct sufficient to convert what would otherwise have been murder into manslaughter. It does not apply to any other offence. It was abolished on 4 October 2010[1] by section 56(1) of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009.[1] but replaced by a very similar defence of “loss of control.”
Loss of control btw only applies to murder / manslaughter.
What the polish guy said wasn’t racist. You should have reported him though. I reckon the police needed a good laugh.
9 July, 2012 at 9:53 pm #501981And what is so offensive about being called “black” if you are black?
Is Ferdinand proud to be black or ashamed to be black? Answer: he’s proud.
It just looks as though Ferdinand is using someone else (the system) to do his fighting for him. And only a coward would do that.
9 July, 2012 at 9:54 pm #501982And if you truly are sick of all this racism cr ap, Terry, why start this thread?
You had a good idea how it was going to pan out, didn’t you?
Probably why you started it.
I won’t be posting on it anymore. I’ve said my piece.

Yes, the Labour Party have made so many changes to the law it’s almost impossible to keep up with them.
And yes, the Polish guy was being racist. Only an idiot would think otherwise.
9 July, 2012 at 10:00 pm #501984depends on your definition of racial abuse panda, i think are opinions differ on that.
i have been called a bro-ho before, in effect that is racist, did it bother me, of course not, racial abuse is wrong i agree, any abuse is wrong, racial or not, my point being is the fact terry used the word “black” doesnt mean he is racist, they called each other cu nts allegedly, thats ok but use the word black, which seems to be wrong, i wonder if this would have gone to court had he called him a white c unt ? very doubtful don’t you think ?
thats the point i’m trying to make.
It’s about time certain people stopped being victims and forgot what their ancestors may have been, alot of people don’t even understand half the words that are used, or the history behind them,so how can you be racially abusing them with words that have no meaning to you, other than it just being plain abuse and trying to get the upper hand. And mentioning someones colour either in talk or shouting isn’t racial abuse, its just abuse at someone thats pissed u off, using any word you can dig up. Oh white trash thats another word thats been used, again effectively racist, but would that go to court or be seen as racist ? again i doubt it.
Thats the point im trying to make. We are all equal, whatever colour we are so lets stop picking out the differences all the time by screaming the racism word like its going out of fashion.
Proper bully type abuse towards someone because of their race is something different entirely, and should feel the full force of the law.
This wasnt like that it was a football game and he pissed him off cos of the game not his colour so no i don’t see it as a racially targeted attack.9 July, 2012 at 10:02 pm #501985@terry wrote:

Let me replace the word “coward” with “low-life scum”.
