John Terry (the footballer) is in court.
It was interesting to read an excerpt from Anton Ferdinand’s evidence after his appearance on the iwtness stand. Well, I say ‘interesting’…..
‘He called me a c*** and I called him a c*** back and he gave me a gesture as if to say my breath smelled. I said to him, “How can you call me a c***? You s****** your team-mate’s missus, you’re a c***”.’

taken from “across the road”
Chelsea and England defender John Terry is due to stand trial later accused of racially abusing QPR’s Anton Ferdinand.
The case relates to a comment allegedly made to Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand when the teams played last October.
The 31-year-old is charged with a racially-aggravated public order offence, for which the maximum sentence is a £2,500 fine.
The Chelsea skipper’s trial takes place at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

This whole case is nothing more than a media driven circus. A complete waste of time and money. Sepp Blatter was right, incidents like this should be sorted out on the field of play and not dragged through the courts. It was agreed by Poli and I too myself think its well over the top, anyone else remember the days when you’d only hear about a footballer when they played the game and nout else, ahh the good auld days :D
9 July, 2012 at 3:44 pm #501949There was the case of the woman on the train who was videoed abusing other passengers.
She got a prison sentence. It’s sort of one rule for us and another rule for the footballers.9 July, 2012 at 4:05 pm #501950Anddddddddd she had a toddler with her! So, basically, I agree with Terry!

I’ll add a little perspective to Terry’s biased post, just to even it out.
John Terry has admitted to saying to Anton Ferdinand:
“F u c k off, f u c k off – f u c k i n g black ****, f u c k i n g knobhead.”
Terry however, claims he was being sarcastic or denying he had called Ferdinand a “black ****” in an “accusatory” way.
Reported in the London Evening Standard.
Those who are guilty of racist abuse (and Im not saying Terry is) whether it is on the football pitch or on the street should be punished accordingly otherwise what type of message does it send out?
