Im unsure if I already have it on my system, but I need to run an Applet for a forthcoming event, and the download keeps failing. Running through the help stuff, Ive basically done everything it asks, the only other thing to do is ensure java is running on IE. When I click on tools in the IE browser, and click on Java sun I get an error box saying a load of numbers cannot be read, and Ive been trying all night!!

Ive been through all my settings and I cant seem to see the problem…. could I still have a hint of a virus somewhere in the system?

    Any help greatfully appreciated

    xx

Dont know mate, but Im giving up for tonight, so many re-starts are driving me into a severe case of computer rage!!

Ive got a couple of weeks to sort it, so I can contact the applet suppliers to see if they can help.

This system was custom built by a mate of mine only a year ago, so I would have thought it was pretty up to date (and I always download the latest stuff etc.

    :?: :?: :?:

managed to actually download the applet, but logging in is shutting down my IE.

Just done a bit of research, microsoft java and microsystems sun (or some other random name) are no longer compatible, but you can have them both on your system.

Im getting there….. slowly but surely!!!

(I dont do chat rooms, so cant answer that)

Ive disabled java sun (as instructed by some geeky site I found) so will see how that goes…..

cheers for answering my nerdy techy question lol! :D
