White people come here who don’t speak English well either. I remember when I was in school there were a few Iberian kids who barely spoke any English. It wasn’t a problem for us though because it was a Christian school and it didn’t suffer from the sort of ignorant prejudices that exist among adults in our society.
Drivel doesn’t realize that it takes time to master a new language. He’s probably one of those people who would struggle to order a cup of tea if he went abroad yet he gets all high and mighty about people coming here who aren’t fluent in English.
I work with Poles, Georgians and Lithuanians. I really enjoy helping them with their
English language skills.And in return, they teach me how to swear in their language. :lol:

Don’t judge me Bigstuff – I am not excluding any colours – I never mentioned colours – I said all people coming to live here shoudl learn the language

As for mastering languages Bigmouth – I can speak both French and Russian as well as my native English – you try learning Russian sometime
My remarks are not racist at all – the only racism is coming from the likes of Tiler – who seems to depise this country and it’s Government – yet is quite happy to take all the handouts too !!@tommy wrote:

Malta, a place I love, would love to live there one day. The people are lovely. ENGLISH is a language taught in their school, it’s a compulsory part of their education.
There are some who are going to say that this girl was being racist. The teacher spoke english, the teacher wasn’t taking part in the particular discussion group he’d placed her in though was he!! Out of the whole discussion group, only one other person spoke english. How is it supposed to be a discussion group when the majority of the group can neither speak or understand the language!!! So call her racist if you want, but I for one think she has a point and probably would have done the same, and asked to be moved…

Yeah right, I’ll believe it when I see it. Secondly, people can be taught if they don’t speak English well. The best way to improve your language skills is to immerse yourself in the country of the language that you’re learning. So if someone wants to learn English the best thing they could do is travel to England.

The best way to learn a language is to speak it , all the time amongst others speaking that language – …………..
So what the ferg are these lot doing speaking a foreign language in an English language class !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can’t immediately converse fluently in a foreign language just because you go to live in a foreign country. It takes time and sometimes you will have to revert to your native tongue. You also won’t understand every single word that foreigners say to begin with. English isn’t the easiest language in the world to learn if you’re a foreigner and if your native language belongs to a different language group.
