Scep…. did you know the saying around the bend referred to how asylums were built?…they had a long Drive leading to them which always had a bend in it so people could not see the goings on…. which were often… terrible :shock:

Also not sure why women are drawn to wisdom doggerel….My mother was real keen on havng this sort of stuff plastered around the house.

all right – the wisdom doggerel appeals to some people.

It’s a bit like the desideratum – a long list of how to be wise and peaceful which was really popular among the hippies when I was a student.

They’re ususally presented in the tone of being written with that peace that passeth all understanding, and so they come across like the wisdom sayings of the Old Testament.
