Only one SPL game on Setanta this weekend and it’s the Celtic game. Even that isn’t until Sunday along with Arsenal, and it’s an early kick off. We’re also getting Dutch football and German football which I have no interest in and, best of all, action from the Blue Square Premier. Whatever the f**k that is.
Rugby’s crap so I won’t be watching that either. I’ll have to wait unitl Monday for the Rangers game to be replayed on Rangers TV.
5 October, 2007 at 10:51 pm #290170Im gonna watch rugby tomorrow and going up the pub for the arsenal match sunday as I aint got setanta. But my youngest will have a match on sunday…. better be finished in time
Saturdays are great cos I still watch Jeff on Soccer Saturday…. the ubercool jeffster 8) there aint a stat that he dont know about
5 October, 2007 at 11:09 pm #290171Tell you something, if it wasn’t for Soccer Saturday I’d be totally lost without a live game! :D I think it’s the best bit of entertainment you can get from Saturday afternoon TV.
Have to agree about Jeff, amazing footballing mind – and he’s entertaining with it 8)
Setanta’s a good deal – everyone at work tells me it’s a waste of money etc but it depends. There’s more SPL football – which suits me – some premiership games, some Champions League games, you get games repeated if you miss them and if you’re a golf fan there’s Setanta Golf. You get Celtic TV (which I don’t watch) Rangers TV (if I miss any game through working or even if the game isn’t televised, I can catch the full match on there) and Liverpool TV (which I don’t watch) Not bad for £9.99 a month.
6 October, 2007 at 12:19 am #290172My Dad has had setanta for a few years now and is grinning at me as if to say “told you Dad knows best”
But Im not gonna get sucked in to another 9.99 a month when we might only watch two matches.
I can go up the legion Sunday, have maybe 3 drinks (6 quid) with fellow gooners and enjoy the atmosphere etc… Dave can go up when the nect Chelsea match is on (they are not on Setanta again this month) so I think Im quids in not having it lol!
6 October, 2007 at 12:02 pm #290173I think Setanta’s only a good deal if you’re a fan of the SPL – especially Rangers or Celtic cos you need never miss a game. Handy for me if I’m working Friday night and there’s a 12.30 kickoff or if I’m on dayshift/backshift (for the champions league or other cup ties)
We were considering Sky Sports, but as you pointed out with Setanta there might be only one or two (if that) games per week that I’m interested in and it really ain’t worth it for that.
That’s actually quite shocking – a woman in a pub? Not only that, but having three drinks?

I’m flattered that you think about things like that when you read my posts, really I am but I’m afraid I’ll have to crush your dreams and desires right now. I ain’t interested.
