Had a white feather appear in one of my bedrooms yesterday , asked in the room last night what it meant …. and apparently it is an angel , looking out for me. Needless to say, i have kept it in a safe place :D
Did you change your pillows per chance?!! lol joking apart, have heard the saying before :D

12 July, 2011 at 1:18 pm #473255People often talk of finding feathers as signs from the angels or those in spirit; personally I took it all with a large pinch of salt until….
One evening, about 6 months after we’d opened, I had a really quiet day, I’d seen about 5 people all day and let’s just say I probably took just enough money to cover the electricity bill for the day. I did my end-of-day routine of vacuuming and straightening up before leaving, then sat there feeling pretty glum. I asked the angels if I’d made a big mistake in opening the shop and said something like “if I’m doing the right thing, I need a sign to tell me to hang on in here”. Then one last look around and I set the alarm and left by the front (and only) door. The following morning I came into the shop, deactivated the alarm and saw, right in the middle of the shop, a big fluffy white feather. There was no way it could have got in, no one except me had keys to the shop, the letterbox was hard enough to open when you wanted to open it, besides the feather was a good 10 feet from the door. I couldn’t explain how it got there so I took it as my sign to hang on in there!
Then another time, a friend of a friend who is as sceptical as they come, bemoaning her lack of money as she was paying me for her purchase. She asked me if things were going to get better for her; I told her to ask the angels for a sign, she laughed in that “give me a break” kind of way but asked anyway. Apparently the following morning she opened her purse to give the kids money for school and there, in her purse, was a small white feather. She dismissed it, said one of the kids had probably put it there, but they all swore that they hadn’t. A few weks later a long-running compensation claim for an industrial accident was suddenly and unexpectedly settled by her husband’s ex-employer and money wasn’t an issue any more.
Who knows, but if it brings people comfort, who are we to knock it :D
12 July, 2011 at 1:34 pm #473256I had had a difficult day yesterday Jen …. which i will not go into here- but was in one of those thinking times as to ” can it get any worse !? “
I came across the feather , just after lunch … and put it in a ‘ safe’ place … Strangely enough – just before tea time , everything came right. Hence why i asked in the room about it . I had heard something about white feathers, but couldn’t remember what it was… and Yes .. as i said , i have kept it. :)12 July, 2011 at 2:12 pm #473257I gonna shake my pillows well and truely when I change them from now on, and put a feather in each room…………….do you think that is cheating?!

I never take notice of feathers at home as we have feather pillows and a feather duvet!

12 July, 2011 at 2:49 pm #473260When my Gran died 2 years ago I was on the bed with her, nuzzling in to behind her and talking in her ear as she passed. Afterwards I felt compelled to stay with her. My sister opened a window (apparently that’s what they do on her ward when someone passes over). Anyway I sat for 40 minutes alone with her after she had died. Just looking at her, stroking her hair and generally feeling like I couldn’t leave her – she still needed someone there. A little while later the Marie Curie nurse and a community sister came in to lay my Grans body out ready for the undertaker. I stepped out while they did this. A few seconds later they called my name – as they prepared my Gran a huge White feather floated down from the ceiling. No feather pillows no duvet in the room. I like to think the Angels had come to guide her and my feeling of waiting was so she wasn’t alone in either world until it was done.
Maybe I’m a crackpot who knows.
